Easiest way to put up a website?

Featured Replies

I have a very specific idea in mind for what I want, but that's taking too long and in the meantime I'd like to at least have something presentable up.

So, do you fellows know of the best way to put up a website quickly? I looked into WordPress, but I'm not starting a blog and every template they have seems to be intended for blogs. All I want for the time being is a one-page site to put up some information. Trying to slog through DreamWeaver to make it do exactly what I want isn't the most timely endeavor right now.

You guys outta know better than I, so what might you recommend?

Thanks unto thee.

You can pay a designer to do it fast, or type "web templates" on google and get millions.

Well, I'm going to do it myself -- no designer. I believe I've googled that query before, as I did after reading your post. The problem now as with then is that I'm only doing a one-page site. All the templates I've looked at are multi-paged with navigation links.

I'm wondering if there's any lesser known, higher quality site or resource for customizing templates like that, so as to get a single-page layout. Sorry if I'm treading on ground with obvious answers.

Also, thanks for the reply, Skysurge.

Find a design that you like and then just take out the navigational bar. If you need a hand with this post the html code in here and someone probably wouldn't mind doing that for you as it wouldn't take long to do.

Search for a wordpress template that doesn't resemble a blog, there are tons out there (there are even some in the free templates section of WDF) good luck! ^_^
