Ok, basically a re-skin for Sportsaver.co.uk, which none of you will have heard of

i know nothing else works from the new one, except the FAQ ( all ajax, coded in about 1 hour ), so don't bum me about that

Well its definitely an improvement on the last one. but in the header the search form i would have in line with the home browse and cart links.

The next thing that strikes me is the navigation down the left hand side. The bars that have the titles in them they seem out of place a bit. It might be if you had a lighter colour or rounded the edges off slightly it might fit better.

I like the gradient on the boxes but if it didnt go all the way to white might be better. It just looks like theres a lot of white space that needs filling.

I noticed that the footer is not inline with the products above it on the right hand side. Its too far over needs re-adjusting.

 

The Ajax is a nice touch. but the title underneath ask a question i think needs a look at, it looks more like a button than a title. try something new for that?

 

Well that all my opinions. I think thats all i'm going to say.

yes, the header is the "unfinished" section of that page... the logo probably isn't gonna look like that, and so it will all be rejigged when the damn owner finally says yes or no on a logo.

 

The titles are there to break up the space, it looks really bland without them. No doubt a bit of graphical magical would help them.

 

The gradients in the boxes go to white because otherwise it look ****. Simple as really. they make the page way too cluttered if the have the bottom bar and the remaining of the side bars showing. They are basically just to hint at the start of a box rather than to define it. I will be making them lighter still.

 

The footer image needs resizing, it is only 700px wide whereas the header + (menu+content) are both 750px wide.

 

What question exactly?

I know it's just an opera problem but the go button on your search falls under the box. Most likely because opera doesn't use the button skin. we might be the internet's forgotten minority but we exist :-) Also the popularity opera is enjoying on phones, set top boxes and the wii might help make them a browser to be aware off.

1.6% of the web uses opera... And at any rate the rest of the site works fine in opera.

 

However, i'll just add overflow: hidden to the css.

Now that's an improved website..the layout between products has more spaced and is much better organised. I like the grey fade on each product it really add's a little something extra to it without going over the top. Much, much better than the original, so I guess the owners will be pleased.

 

One thing I noticed is the text on the descriptions has some spacing issues between words.

The spacing issues is because of the text-align justify combined with the small width. Its not something I can really get past...
