fixed side nav with changeable body

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

This is driving me crazy. How do i have a left and right hand side nav that is a fixed width and never chnges width, and a middle body div tht changes width depending on the resolution of the screen?

a good example of what im looking for is http://www.play.com

Play.com

Thanks in advance guys

Use 3 divs for your columns:

#leftcol {
float:left;
width:200px;
}

#rightcol {
float:right;
width:200px;
}

So long as you do not specify a width for the page, or the container div etc, this should work. You may need to float:left; the main column div too, just don't specify a width.

Good luck :)
