I have two possible designs for my knew social networking website one is a bit of a more extravagant design than the other. Please state which one you prefer and why. Also feel free to outline problems you see withs each design as all advice is more than welcome.

Is it wrong to like a combination of both? For the most part I prefer #1 but I like the banner/header in #2 better (not sure if a combination of these would look good though... might be too dark/light given the different concepts).

 

Personally, I don't like the thick grey module boxes in Site #2.

Yeah i was thiking along the same line a combination of the two would be best, No1 is just too red!

I prefer the first one.

The second one got much boxed making it feel cramped.

I also prefer the banner in the first one over the second, the gradient appeal more to me than the scanlines.
