Hello i am no expert in web design and have very little SEO knowledge but would like an answer to what i have done right for a change,my URL is know only 9 months old and as a massive google rating of zero so why all of a sudden in the last 3 hours as my google search for my key phrases have gone from 8's 9's and 10's which i was happy with with not trying to study SEO just yet that they have gone to position 1 also in the whole of the uk its gone to page 2 position 1 where normaly i carnt find it at all so my question is what as google rating got to do with things when my web site with a rating of zero is above URL's of google ratings of 2,i have been working on the site and added 6 new pages in te last 2 weeks but these dont contain much information that would help with SEO thanks every one

Mostly likely down to well structured HTML and good content which has meant it has slowly risen.

Google change their algorithms quite a lot so change in the results is fairly common.

Could it also be different data centres showing different results?

see whether your backlinks, traffic, blog ranking? etc have increased... I suspect they have... as such google has deemed your content good enough to climb rankings.

  • 2 weeks later...

Use the old good tags and attributes; <h1>, alt="", title="".

Make good structured content with a lot of words that is related to your site and which people search for. Google like good pagerank, and things like that also. Cuil for example is a bit different. I dont know the strategies for Cuil, but i think they focuse on good content. :)

Set links on your pages to your home page. For example; "Back to My Site" on your "About me"-site. Just an example. Make good titles and keywords.

Good luck! :D

Firstly, have you heard of punctuation, it took my about an hour to de-code what you had actually written!

Pages can jump / drop massively for whatever reason, I would see what it looks like in a couple of weeks for a better picture. Equally people may be linking to your site because they like it which has given it some added weight...
