W3Schools tells me I can't run ASP on Windows XP (home edition). Please can somebody tell me this isn't true!! I'm desperate to learn ASP to create an interactive user site and I can't play with it on my own PC

 

Can anybody suggest anything (short of buying XP Professional, I am a poor student) - I have a basic knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

You can't run IIS on home edition which is the Microsoft HTTP server that's generally used for ASP. There are alternatives though such as Baby Web Server and Abyss.

Or switch to a much nicer language such as PHP.
