  1. Thank you Bluedreamer, that is really helpful! It's hard to estimate the space for a forum never having run any on this scale, this is a really good start. We can always upgrade to include more hosting if/when necessary but it's good to have something to start off with. I guess the monthly budget would be as low as possible with somewhat decent customer service (i.e. they reply within a day and are helpful), but I would say up to 6£ a month. Sunlight, I'll check out this host, thank you for the suggestion. Cheers!
  2. Hello, I'm new on here so I thought I'd drop a line. I do some web design freelance, I started out by chance designing sites for friends and it's now turning into more and more of a job. Hoping to find some answers on here. Cheers
  3. Hello, I'm new on this forum. I am designing a website for a university course and they would like to have it in two sections, with a main section containing information for prospective students, and a second section containing a forum for current students, alumni, etc. I was planning on running a SMF forum for this section. Considering there are about 100 students at any one time, could someone help me estimate how much space and bandwidth I will need? Also, if you have any suggestions for good and low cost hosting packages and .co.uk registrations. I was looking at freehostia and I've used 1and1 for most of my other sites. Thank you
