I appologise if I am posting this in the wrong section. I am just wondering what related/similar pages are in google. I have clicked on this in webmaster tools and none seem to show up. When I check other Design businesses websites they show lots of related/similar pages. Hi, Not sure if I have fully understood you but I have a gallery inside of my website. If you go to http://www.yorkgraphicdesigners.co.uk and go on the photograpy page there is a text link to my photo gallery which I have contained within my website design. This is a free programme called autoviewer (type autoviewer into google and you can download it for free). Its fully customisable, but if you download the free version you have to have the auto viewer logo in the bottom corner. Hope this helps. cheers Mark

Thanks for the reply. My problem is that if you copy and paste a sentance from any of the pages into google it returns in the serps with page at the top. But when i do that with a sentance from the web design page it does not show up, any ideas why? Thanks Mark

Hi, I have had my site live for about 3 months now and am experiencing major problems with one of the pages. All my pages show up in serps apart from one. It is listed in google webmaster tools but when i serach for the exact url in google it does not show up. My site is http://www.yorkgraphicdesigners.co.uk and the page in question is http://www.yorkgraphicdesigners.co.uk/web-design.html. I am pulling my hair out as this is an important page that I want to show up. I have checked it on keyword cloud and there is less than 10% for keywords so this should be ok. Has google penalised me, and if so does anyone know why and how to rectify as I am lost. I thought about changing the name of the URL and some of the content, but as I don't know what I have done wrong I am reluctant to do this as it might be a total waste of time. If anyone could help i would really appreciate to as I am losing potential customers every day. Many Thanks Mark

I have just uploaded my site for testing and when I view in Firefox the alt text displays before the image is loaded. I understand why its necessary but think it looks ugly. Any ideas how to hide the alt text? I have resized some of the larger images down to 70k but still seems to be happening. http://www.yorkgraphicdesigners.co.uk Also, i thought my contact form was sorted but have been informed that when displayed in firefox on a pc it has slipped. It is ok for IE on pc and all mac browsers. I don't know how to write conditional css for an actual operating system eg. to target firefox on a pc only? cheers Mark

Hi, I have nearly finished my website and have uploaded it for some testing. Apart from a couple of minor issues I thought I had cracked it. The problem is how the contact page displays in Firefox on PC. I wrote some conditional css for IE 7 to sort the problem out for Internet explorer, but did not realise that PC Firefox was displaying page differently. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem, what code I need and how I need to write it? I'm on a mac so a friend is checking on his PC at work. Hi, I am new to web design and am starting to realise the headaches that web design can cause. I am teaching myself css, and am getting the hang of it, but am having real problems when it comes to getting my site to display the same in all browsers. I have attached a couple of screen shots to show the problem. If you have a look at the bottom right on the orange panel the text is bigger in Firefox than in Safari. How can i get this the same? I have had a look on the web and it says something about conditional css, but as i'm just starting to learn css, this is going way over my head. I have attached the css code i have used below. Hi, I am new to web design so please forgive my ignorance. I have a website that works perfectly in FF and safari but I am having major problems in IE. I work on a mac and don't run parallels so can't easily check any fixes I make to the site. I have told the person their site will be ready for tomorrow (I still need to add pictures to rally reports so not a big job) but have been trying for two days to sort the ie 6 issue but its not happening. I have attached a separate style sheet for ie and just put in a margin and padding fix * {margin:0; padding:0;}. Will this work as I can't check? If not does anyone have any ideas how to get the site aligned correctly in ie6 as this still has such a big share of the browser market. Thanks for that you are a star. When I'm setting up the css in the future should I always define the margin values even if they are 0. Also, i don't suppose you know why the main body text <P> is either bigger or line spacing is more in IE. cheers

Hi, I very new to designing websites so this may be an easy fix. My Headings in IE move up, but are fine in Firefox and Safari. I have read lots of articles on browser compatibility, so i designed for standards compliant browser, in the hope I could easily fix the IE problem at a later date.
