Hello Have not been here for a long time, so its a bit cheeky of me to ask for help, but as this is the best best forum around I did not have many other places to go and ask for advice. Anyway I have moved away for osCommerce a few years ago and built a magento website, it was still early days for magento, so I had a lot of learning to do, I have redesigned the site 3/4 mts ago and would love so feedback, I think the site looks good, but I would as I built it so an outsiders opinion would be a lot better than my one. We was also hit with the google panda effect and went from 50k per month unique, down to 10k per mts, so that was a big hit on the business so we needed to do something, we only copied the products makers description as it was fine to do that 6 years ago, but as most of you know that now it's not a bright idea, we have been changing the content on all pages, but with 1000 products and a lot of contents pages this is taking sometime, but hopefully fingers crossed, once all the content is updated and we speed up the site a little more google will lift the penalty. I know this forum is a nofollow, so I really am not asking to get any link juice, just to make a better site for the visitors we get. Away looking forward to some feedback, good or bad. and any advice on how not to keep getting hit by google would not go a miss Regards Dawn Baby Gifts Website

Thank you for the reply, The problem is that my host does not support the new ecommerce software, so i can not put it in a sub folder with them. I would have to build the whole thing with a new host, then change the domain when i am finished. Would that be possible and can you see any pitfalls? Thanks

Hello Im new here ask you can guess by how many posts i have done I would love to have some advice, I am planning to redesign my site under a different domain then once I have finished the project move the new design to a new host and use my old domain, this way i will not lose much down time. Im sure this will and has pit falls, What should i be careful off and what I'm planing to do is it possible? I know I will have to redirect my old URL,s to the new ones and submit a new sitemap to google, I have about 500 products so this is going to take me ages. Any advice and tips would be great Thanks
