As I thought really. Can't stand things like Wix etc, I'm a tad more advanced than that. I've decided to virtualise my environment so I have built a specific server for the existing php 5.4 stuff so that can be left running as is. I would like to move forward and upgrade my ageing skillset though . I've built several options either IIS driven, or Xampp so I have plenty of options available. I'm assuming all the dynamic data driven sites are just properly hand coded and there's no software that assists with that in the way Dreamweaver did? I'm sure Dreamweaver is somewhat of swear word around these parts but I've successfully used it commercially for a number of years. Looks like I've just got to put the hard work in and teach myself PHP properly!

Greetings all. I'm a self employed IT consultant that occasionally dabbles in web design. For years I've had my own webserver that I hosted the occasional client site on. I've always used Dreamweaver to design my sites and have never really had any issues and have got pretty efficient with it over the years. I've recently had to upgrade my webserver that I host the some client sites on and it's created a bit of an issue for me. I decided to move away from the PHP 5.4 environment and install MYSQL 8 and PHP 8 on it. I've been always pretty reliant on the Dreamweaver MySQL Server behaviors that have now been deprecated from php 5.6 onwards. I'm aware that Web Assist do behaviours that are SQLi based but I've had some serious issues getting them to actually work and the creators of the extensions couldn't work out whats happening so I've given up with that. So I'm wondering if someone can point me in the direction of any software that more or less does the same as Dreamweaver does but supports MySQLi? I'm not a coder, I can read code and edit what I need to but I'm absolutely buggered with it all at the moment and I feel like a large part of my skillset has just been made obsolete. If anyone could give me some pointers on where to turn I'd be grateful. Cheers
