  1. Thanks guys, its very nice to have an insight into the different approaches. @BlueDreamer That is quite an interesting approach getting the client to populate their own content, which is something that I am going to consider. It' s been a nightmare trying to get the content from the client, it just seems to delay everything. @fisicx Do you just not start until you have the content for the client? My approach was to build the template while they put together the content. the projects that I have been involved in the client has had a previous website to go by so I've been able to base some of the content around that, which is why I usually use the dummy text.

  3. Hey! I’m venturing into website design and I’m curious to see if anyone has a process to their design before building the websites. Some general questions: 1- How do you gather the clients design wants? 2- Do you ask the client for all the content before building the wesbite? 3- Do you use any wireframes? If so do you know of any free responsive ones?is it worth it.? I’ve designed a couple of websites and here is what I do (The flow of the designing is not as smooth as I like it.) 1- Asks the client for example websites that they like or don’t like and ask them what they want to achieve and want on their site 2- research their website and competitions and provide a quote 3- Start building a template of the site using the ‘best bits’ from there suggested websites. I use Loren ipsum and some free stock images to show where images and text will go 4- I send this off for feedback and if approved ask them to send me content and then add the images and text 5- publish So my main question is, what do you do, what’s your process from ‘I need a new website’ to publish I hope this makes some sense .
