Somiac

Introduction time, after many many years! I am Somiac - I work in the UX field, but now do more team ops than anything else. I really prefer the forum format, slower, easier to keep up - every time I'm in discord or the likes, if I start a conversation and forget, its way gone and no way to easily go back and reply. Same goes for places like Bluesky where feeds just go constantly and people hardly return to older threads to keep a conversation going. Anyways! Looking forward to being active here, more so than I was before

How do you think we can battle against all the AI slop and bots? Do you think that the internet will start to become many closed communities, where it becomes very difficult? Or is it just getting to the point that except for specific reasons, the internet is basically dead? How often do you browse the internet these days anyways? I almost never, unless I have a specific question - and will almost always just refer to a book now if possible. Books written before the last couple years, because again, many have AI slop, and don't even sound human in some cases. It's really unfortunate. What is your idea? Btw hello again to this forums; I only remembered because I checked an old email address and I had a notification of forums migrating to vbulletin! SO perhaps I will try to be more active here too :)

Alright, so I know CSS/HTML by the back of my hand, I can code any day, been doing it for years, but I have never got around to learn PHP/MySQL...or lets put it this way, I can look at and understand PHP but I cant implement it or write it. I need to create a CMS for my website, and if anyone knows a step by step tutorial, for dummies, who don't know anything, and explains why they do what they do etc, then I will be on my way, or if someone is willing to help me personally...XD Which I doubt lol, then theres that option also haha.
