ASP Contact Form Help!
Ok I will start by saying I am a complete noob at this contact form thing, its probably something really simple that I am missing here so please dont start having a go Basically the problem is I used an example .ASP file to send the information to from my HTML form, the only thing I have changed in the .ASP file is the "mail_to" address which it said to do. However when I test the page and click "submit" on the form it simply opens up the .ASP file in the web browser?? Could someone please just point out where I am being a complete **** and correct me please? Here is the HTML code for the form <div id="form"> <div id="fields"> <form action="contactsend.asp" method="post" name="contactForm"> <label for="inputname">Name:</label> <input type="text" name="Name" /><br /> <label for="inputmail">Email:</label> <input type="text" name="email" /><br /> <label for="inputtelefon">Location:</label> <input type="text" name="web" /><br /> <label for="inputmessage">Message:</label> <textarea name="message" cols="28" rows="4"></textarea> <div id="send"> <input type="image" src="images/send.gif" value="submit" /> </div> </form> </div></div> Here is the .ASP file <% Dim error error = 0 For Each f In Request.Form If Request.Form(f) = "" Then error = 1 End If Next If error=1 Then response.redirect "error.html" Else Dim f, emsg, mail_to, r, o, c, other mail_to = "djceev2@hotmail.co.uk" fline = "_______________________________________________________________________"& vbNewLine hline = vbNewLine & "_____________________________________"& vbNewLine emsg = "" For Each f In Request.Form If mid(f,1,1)<>"S" = True Then 'do not save if input name starts with S emsg = emsg & f & " = " & Trim(Request.Form(f)) & hline End If Next Set objNewMail = Server.CreateObject("CDONTS.NewMail") objNewMail.From = Request("Email Address") objNewMail.Subject = "Message from contact page (version: 1.0)" objNewMail.To = mail_to objNewMail.Body = emsg & fline objNewMail.Send Set objNewMail = Nothing response.redirect "thankyou.html" End if %> Bit of help for the noob please?

Review website please
Thank you very much for that positive feedback Peter000. That is much appreciated, I am glad you like the site. Just to inform people, the site does not yet support online payments or transactions, but its purpose at this time is to simply advertise the products and deals which we are offering to local people and others. We aim to attract more people from the local area and perhaps some surrounding areas to come and visit our shop. However in the future we will be looking into e-commerce and online payment options.

Review website please
I have changed the site slightly to suit a christmas theme, I have spaced out the navbar as suggested before, and made the logo text a bit bigger, it may be a bit difficult to read with the snow on it now, but still it looks christmas-like i think. What would you say? Do you think the site looks ok visually? Is there any bad contrasts on there or something which looks awful and needs an immediate change? Please do tell me now!! Thank you!

Thank you very much for the comments guys very helpful! Will definately work on fine tuning it. Alot of the things pointed out I am aware of, such as the different background colours for header texts, this is simply because I slightly lightened the content background colour and havn't changed the images yet. Also I do agree about spacing out the navbar a bit, I am guessing most of you are using firefox as I am. However take a look at the navbar in IE, the buttons automatically seem to be spaced out, which I believe looks quite nice. Would you say I should actually code the navbar to look as it does now in IE? Thank you for the feedback so far!

Review website please
WWW.OCCASIONS-BIGGINHILL.COM I posted this website quite a while back, and many people had alot to say about it, I havent changed the site majorly, only the most obvious mistakes and areas which recieved the most negative feedback such as the vertical navigation menu. This has been changed now. I would now like just some general feedback on the site overall, not all of the CONTENT is uploaded but the general design is pretty much completed, keep in mind, design wise I didnt want the site looking too fancy or too simple. I like white space, but not alot of it, therefore I dont go for the most modern simplistic look when designing a site. Also keep in mind I am in no way shape or form a professional web designer, so no harsh comments about some of the design aspects. If you feel any of the design does need a dramatic change or something looks awful to you, then please by all means mention it! I would like as much feedback as possible so that I can get the website fully up and running. Thank you.

Tbh i like most of the ideas there, thanks However I cant say i agree too much on the white background, im not sure why but I think it just doesnt look too nice, maybe a really faded whitey-blue but not just plain white, it makes some of things quite difficult to see and is a little strenuous on the eyes... would you not agree?

well ive changed the footer to have the same glossy gradient effect as the horizontal nav bar. I think it looks better tbh, I dont know what others think? Im really stuck on the whole menu thing though, I like the idea of the menu completely however I just think it looks a bit bold but jsut cant think of how to change it to make it bold enough to stand out but not too bold that it looks odd! I am usually pretty good at keeping all design elements within a site quite consistent and following the same style, however I am having quite a block atm and producing some odd stuff If anyone has any ideas or can mock up anything for me? That would be really helpful!!

Thank you for the feedback, do you know what I agree with you, the main reason I didnt want to change the backgorund colour is because I had created the original sidenav icons to fit in with that colour. However I may change it now. I do want to keep the overall colour scheme shades of blue though. What would you say is wrong with the horizontal menu? also what would you suggest for the gradient background?? The products title and the call us box were just quick little things I done to pad out the space, I want to keep some form of call us banner on the main page, so that people dont have to go to the Contact Us page for the phone number, also what would you suggest for the products menu title?? Im having a bit of a blank and actually cannot think of anything If anyone could do some mock ups or examples of what they think would look better, PLEEEAAASSSEE do so! I would really appreciate it, in the final stages I will be adding a credits page somewhere on the site and will credit anyone who has contributed or helped me out!! Thanks!

To pendulum, yes I will be adding that information soon! I am not really that happy with the menu at all, I think its too bold, im not sure why but it doesnt blend with the rest of the template I dont think, it stands out a bit odd. I want to create a menu which is not just plain text or boring button images, one with the images of each product as I have done, however for some reason I cannot think of one which will look good and suit the template??? Could someone help me out there with some ideas??? Would be much appreciated, im having a bit of a designers block atm

Thank you for all the feedback I shall have to get to work on it all I am quite happy with the nav bar on the main page, I was thinking I dont like the colour of some of the buttons, e.g. the stationery and partyware ones, I think the colours should be a bit brighter, so I shall work on that and making the subpage banners consistent with the navbar as well. Also to wizely the main point of the site really is obviously to make people aware of our presence. Also to promote the products that we sell and to advertise our new stock etc, such as the BLUE NOSE FRIENDS addition. To promote our seasonal stock etc. However I also wish to advertise our BALLOON/VENUE DECORATION service to people around the Kent, London and Surrey areas as we deliver and decorate venues for weddings and parties etc. I am also hoping in the future to have some base ground for building an online shopping section to the site. It is also there for people who wish to contact us etc.

Which font are you referring to? The Freestyle Menu font? Or the general font used for the content?
