I used a "bicubic sharper (reduction)" without filter. You can see the image (http://www.davideinzaghi.it/portfolio/fox-beer/) . I created this image with photoshop 4500x2646px 72dpi, I want to show my picture in a div of 700x412px. 1) resize with photoshop, 700x412px 72dpi quality 12 (max) -> 216Kb and the quality (according to my scale) on my site is 8 (from 0 to 10). 2) resize with photoshop, 1400x824px 72dpi quality 12 (max) -> 683Kb and the quality (according to my scale) on my site is 10 (from 0 to 10). Why if the browser resize an original image of 1400px to 700px the quality of the pictures are better than use a pictures resize by photoshop ? The resize metod of a browser is better the photoshop ? I'm using a full hd screen. Thanks

Is what I did the first time. I resize the image from 4500px to 700px and uploaded to the server. I tried the same from 4500px to 1500px and uploaded. When I display the pictures at 700px the second has bigger resolution, seame that resize of browser is better the photshop resize.

Thank's for the replies but I have another question. I created an image by Photoshop of 4500x2646 px, in my website the biggest image that I use is 700x412px. How can I create an image of 700x412px without lose resolution ?

I need to display an image of 800x600 px, the guide tell me that I don't need to load on the image server with larger size because it takes more time to download it and the browser ( or a representative ) must reduce it. I do not understand why the quality change, if I display on a browser an image 800x600px that originaly was bigger the quality is better that if I had it loaded on the server already reduced the size 800x600px.
