What software programs do you use to create your site and design it? I've been dabbling with several and I'm trying to figure out what the best route for me is. I've created websites with Yola, WordPress, Your Membership, and tried my hand at Dreamweaver, but realized it's a bit out of my league at this moment. I'm trying to figure out what to do with my life and I've found that I really enjoy web based anything. At my last job I created a website that hosted/managed 7,500 members from the ground up. Your Membership is a mix between WordPress and Dreamweaver. It was not drag and drop, but I needed very little coding knowledge. I set up a payment/donation processor on that site as well, it was taking in thousands of dollars each month. It was all self taught, I was the only person in the company with web experience! What I've done otherwise: I'm learning HTML and CSS via CodeAcademy currently I've worked with Yola, WordPress, Your Membership, and Dreamweaver (very little), I currently run two websites, not including the one I created for work What I would like to do: Create my own websites that are "no strings attached", meaning I don't need a web based design program like GoDaddy/Yola/WordPress with rules as to what kind of content can be on my site My question in a nutshell: Are there programs in which you can create a website on your computer, save it on your computer, but aren't code intensive? I made a very beginner website back in school that I was able to do those things, but it was extremely basic and boring. (and it was a long time ago!)
