it's just that when he made the simple webpage for me he used an image/cartoony type pic on part of the page. I doubt he designed the image from scratch using his imagination himself but just used it from whatever place web designers use for their imagery sources. someone recently mentioned to me that i do not hold the rights to that image (even though i own domain, pay for hosting, and originally paid web guru to create the web page for me) so just wanted a clearer picture from the guys that do this for a living. thanks for your time on this.

thanks - however it seems the web designer/company has gone out of business (or had disappeared). So just wondered if i own the images, or at least am allowed to have them on my website. I did pay for the service of course and have receipt etc.

hi sorry for posting daft question, but i just would like clarity on image rights. if i have bought a domain name, and then got a web designer to make a nice website to go with it, and it all works fine and dandy, who owns the image rights on any images/logos etc he has used in producing nice website. Do i own them by default, or does the website creator still own the rights and had used under some sort of licence etc? in other words, assuming he has done his job all above board, am i right in thinking that i cannot personally be in trouble over any images on the site? thanks
