Has anyone used www.freelancer.co.uk before? I've just had a look and would like some feedback if possible before using the site
  2. Spend time with friends, have a distraction that requires no thinking, clear your mind, have a good nights sleep, then start again
  3. There is a lot of opinion floating about on this subject, however for that initial meeting, what is wrong with trying to impress, wear a suit, if you get the job you can wear what you want. Totally agree with this, do you think you will be turned away because you are dressed to impress? looking smart and professional is not going to be anything but a good thing..
  4. I now have an account at code school and spent 12 hours on it yesterday, only people on here would understand that I loved every second of it lol Now I have an account at code school and now plural sight has joined them does this mean I have access to the plural sight courses? I hope so
  5. We all have different ways of retaining knowledge. Having a book can be good as its something you can quickly refer back too, but for me I learn better by doing, having said that the books on HTML/CSS & javascript/jquery by Jon Duckett are really good, very well laid out. That is music to my ears, being able to prove your ability is far more powerful than having a piece of paper in your hand

  8. I'm glad I started this topic now, I was looking at a uni course earlier which would have cost £6000, looking at code school and treehouse it now seems that I've just saved myself a whole load of money. i really appreciate the advise, just goes to show that forums like this have so much benefit. I cant wait to dive in

  10. I just had a quick look at treehouse, now it seems I'm spoilt for choice. Are they similar? Did you sign up for the basic or pro account on treehouse? I'm wondering what the pro account has to offer different to the basic, my thinking is to sign up for the basic account
  11. Following your advice, I logged into Code School and took the first lesson in JavaScript to get an idea of what it was like. I was really impressed, they got it spot on with how to get the information across. I'm definitely going to be looking into enrolling, the cost isn't bad either. For less than £20 per month I can take what course I want and when I want. Sounds perfect to me Thanks for the advice, this will definitely help Joe

There doesnt seem to be much difference, I guess the Voyage must be better in some way but both do what you want it to do so the choice is yours if you want to go the extra cost for a Voyage

If it's purely for reading then the best option would be the paperwhite, the battery lasts forever and little charging time, my kindle lasts about three weeks with daily use before I need to charge it
  19. I've been looking about for online courses in JavaScript, I lnow I need to master this subject of I want to get on There is so many options so I'd like to ask if anyone knows the best place to go At the moment I can only do online learning Thanks Joe
