I am just in the process of transferring my wbsites sites to a new hosting company and am having trouble getting on-line forms using formmail.pl to work. Before going into any detail about my specific problem, I would like to ask the question, am I out of touch here? I have been using formmail.pl for form submission for years without investigating alternatives. So are there better alternatives out there that someone would recommend? Maybe php? Are there examples of the code available that can be used and adapted? Any comments and suggestions would be very much appreciated! Kind regards, Mike

Just had a couple of hours looking through your forum and picking up some very interesting tips regarding site hosting. Although there are other posts on this subject I thought that I would create this one specific to my needs to see what it throws up. Based in the UK, I've been building Web sites now for around 12 years and currently host around 15 sites on a Windows based virtual server with my current supplier. I have been with them from the start but they have let me down badly this year and as much as I don't relish having to move everything over to a new service provider I feel now that I have to bite the bullet and do it! So, around 15 Web sites, nothing complicated, all hand written in html and php, 3 of them use MySQL databases which I administer using phpMyAdmin. one incorporates Wordpress. Admin req'd via simple control centre for access to nameserver and webserver and setting up email, pop3 mailboxes or forwarding - the usual stuff. I'm paying £175 + VAT per year at present and happy to continue paying around that for a reliable service. I don't need a massive amount of space, maybe around 2 or 3 gig would be plenty. I'm not looking to expand this business too much so don't need to allow for the future. Having been with the same provider all the time has meant that I am used to their system and have not kept in touch with the more modern systems and services. Can anyone recommend a good hosting supplier. Would I be better with a reseller account or VPS? Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks Mike
