Wordpress 2012 powered by remove
Thanks for advice. Sorry, I made a mistake - 2012 is the one I use for some other web site. One I was asking about is Editor. I liked the fact it has left vertical menu bar. Basically, I was looking for a portfolio theme, left vertical menu, with no blog ( Editor has a blog on the other page ). Just some simple design with empty pages to fill with images. 2015 looks promising... Have you got any suggestions ? Just one more question re. child themes - if I want to change some script from original parent do I have to import that part of code ( like Theme footer ) to child ? I downloaded WP to hosting server, and am working from there - it's always online. To work off line I guess I'd have to work through local host, and upload it to server - to be honest have no clue how to do it.

Wordpress 2012 powered by remove
Hi, I just created new Word press 2012 child theme, and tried to remove Proudly powered by WordPress | Theme: editor by Array footer. Had a look at several tutorials, but it seems they were made before some 2012 updates. I went to Appearance - Editor, and in parent 2012 removed several lines ( as they said in the tutorial ). Didn't work, and got a message that ' something went wrong '. Here is the footer code, could you please tell me which part should I delete ? <?php /** * The template for displaying the footer. * * Contains the closing of the #content div and all content after * * @package Editor */ ?> </div><!-- #content --> <footer id="colophon" class="site-footer" role="contentinfo"> <div class="site-info"> <a class="powered-by" href="<?php echo esc_url( __( 'http://wordpress.org/', 'editor' ) ); ?>"><?php printf( __( 'Proudly powered by %s', 'editor' ), 'WordPress' ); ?></a> <span class="sep"> | </span> <?php printf( __( 'Theme: %1$s by %2$s', 'editor' ), 'editor', '<a href="https://array.is/">Array</a>' ); ?> </div><!-- .site-info --> </footer><!-- #colophon --> </div><!-- #page --> <?php wp_footer(); ?> </body> </html> Thanks, Alan

Site is finished, or came to the point when I thought it's worth uploading... www.alanmatuka.com Of course, there are things that I'll tweak and change, but that's pretty much it :-) Thank you all for your help :-) Special thanks go to Jane, without your help I couldn't have done it :-) Since I worked in London for a long time I'll be happy to come back to do some photographic assignments...

Yes, I did go with Twentytwelve child theme. And as you said I built it online from scratch, it didn't take that long. I'm sure it would be easier to copy files and folders if one knows how to do it, but that's not the case with me :-) Thanks, I'll try pasting .home .entry-title {display:none;} into TwentyTwelve child theme css Just had a look at the page on Samsung android, it seems it opens just partially.... hope that looks better on tablets and iphone...

Site seems to be working, but have a problem with home page... I'd like it to display just one image, and if I past it as a post it says ' uncategorized '... if I post it as a static page it shows a name of the page... Also, is it possible to loose ' Proudly powered by wordpress ' ? Jane, heeelp :-) Thank you :-)

I've created a child theme, and it's only some text and images ( since it's a photography site ). Still not online... Since whole site needs to be uploaded I have to transfere theme folder together with db folder, I guess...

thanks, I agree... I haven't uploaded anything to the live website for ages... Do you just copy certain files ? It seems I'll have to find a good tutorial...

site is half way finished, and I wanted to ask you for help once more... At the moment I am working offline, using local server. Once the site is finished I'd like to upload it to the server, and still be able to work on some changes offline. Is there some good tutorial ? I had a look at few, but it still seems complicated... I guess I have to change some settings on the ' general settings ' page... thanks... I'll be offline for several days, and that's why I won't be able to reply right away...

Here is an update about the site building... I just bought Meta Slider Pro and set up filmstrip slideshow, here is a screenshot... it would be great to loose ' edit ' and that thin gray line on the right side of the image. I got in touch with Meta Slider support, and they seem to have way of sorting it, they'll write a bit of css for that... Will let you know how that went :-)
