adding opacity to table only and not to anchor links. How?
Please bear with me as I am a self-taught beginner:) <HTML> <div id="links"> <table> <tr> <td><a href="#">News</a></td> <td><a href="#">About</a></td> </tr> </table> </div> <CSS> #links { opacity: 0.2; }

adding opacity to table only and not to anchor links. How?
I am trying to place a table with links. However, I would like the table to have an opacity of 0.2 while keeping the anchor links 100% non-transparent. I have tried playing around with the table element in CSS but it just seems that everything (links included) gain an opacity. Is there a way round this?

Inserting an .svg image on html
I managed to insert an .svg using the <img>. However it just does not show up on my page. Yet if I right-click my mouse over where the .svg image is meant to be I get the 'save image as' option so really the image is there but not visable. Any clues?

Inserting an .svg image on html
Hi, I do not know if this is the right place or not to put a topic on the .svg file type but here it goes. I know that there are quite a few methods into inserting a .svg file into the html file but I want to try out the most simple of all. The <img> tag. When I place my image.svg into the <img src> tag the image does not show up on any of my three browsers.(Firefox, IE and Chrome). I am saving the file as optimised .svg. and declaring the width and height. What am I doing wrong. Thanks

basic help
I am teaching myself HTML and CSS and I still get confused in certain areas. For example: Which is the best way to add a class to an element? In the example of a <table> would it be: <td class="example"><a href="www.google.com"><img src="picture.png" /></a></td> or <td><a class="example" href="www.google.com"><img src="picture.png" /></a></td> or <td><a href="www.google.com"><img src="picture.png" class="example" /></a></td> Does it matter where I add the class id? Also, What is the best practice to add small images to the website? through HTML or through CSS? Sorry for sounding really ammateur but I am confused. Thanks

hover on table cells
Basiclly I have an image inside the link and the link inside a table cell. When on hover I want to image to grow by x by x. That is fine. The problem that I have and I have no idea if it is possible is that when I hover over say, cell 1, I want the image only in that said cell to grow. At the moment when I hover over cell1 I get cell2, cell3, cell3, cell4, cell5, and cell6 to all grow at the same time too when on hover. Is it possible to individually make the cells grow?

making a image clickable
Hi, I want to be able to have a link inside a border, which in turn has a background image. How would I be able to make the whole image area clickable with hover? I have Googled but can not find the answer. Thanks. HTML <li class="link1"><a href="http://www.google.com">Google</a></li> CSS .link1{ background-image:url(image.png); display:block; margin-top:5px; border:1px solid black; height:100px; width:100px; }
