Dear Experts,
I have been tasked with designing our start-up company website.
Back Ground
We are a small start up that is building a website where individual investor can subscribe to our database to access raw company financial data to assist them in their investment decisions.
The subscribe part of the website (i.e. the database app), is still being built, and is around 4 months from completion. In the meantime we would like to launch the website as we have already created some good written content, commentaries and forum etc, with the aim of drawing potential future customers in.
Website
We have technical background and work with very competent coders, yet we all lack any kind of design skills. The beta build has been done from a template and I am not very happy with the colour scheme, fonts, layout etc.
Our target customer base is quite broad. Typical customer could be a young male just starting a long term equity portfolio, a middle aged manager building an income paying retirement portfolio, or a professional investor who is only interested in cost effective access to raw data.
The look and feel should be modern and clean, and draw the user in to explore the site a bit more.
The URL is www.roburir.com - the site is still quite young and a lot of changes in content and navigation are still due.
However I would really appreciate it if someone could have give some ideas about the layout, colour schemes and font choices. At the moment it is a mix and match of out of the box template content and my (not very skilled) attempt at adding a bit of flare.
Our coders are excellent at implementing examples, but cannot fabricate any ideas themselves.
Thanking you all very much in advance
David
