Hi there people, I've decided to get back into web dev/design. I gave it a crack about 5yrs ago but gave it up because I thought that most of this sort of work would soon be done by people in other countries for $1 a day etc... How wrong I was, there are many jobs here in Oz for 'skilled' web developers and web designers. Much better career prospects than being a 'pre-press professional' in the printing industry. So here I go again!... I'll be learning html5, css3 and javascript - and seeing it through this time, to a level where I can do some freelance work and hopefully change my career. Strangely, there doesn't seem to be any really good web dev/design forums (that I could find) here in Oz. One that I have signed up to seems to have a lot of 'non-english' speaking members with less experience than myself - which doesn't really help me with my learning. I hope that doesn't offend anyone, if it does - oh well, I'm over 50, so I reckon I can say pretty much anything I like!! - I'm doing a lot more planning and research this time around, so I will be asking lots of questions here and hopefully be able to make a positive contribution myself. I'm looking forward to future conversations with other forum members. Cheers Steve.
