If your page doesn't have good number of subscribers (people who like your page) at the beginning you can post 3-4 times a week and when you will have greater number of fans to your page, posting 1-2 posts a day is enough. Also consider time while posting any status update. Figure out when your targeted audience can be maximum online and post within that time period. After posting your updates also work on bringing some likes and shares to those posts because it will make the probability high of showing your posts on the home feeds of all your fans.

To use pinterest effectively for social media marketing do the following things :- 1. Create Pin boards of differenct categories of your products or services. Be specific to each of your Pin boards. Don't create a wide range of pin boards of services or products that you don't provide. 2. Pin pictures daily to those pin boards and share them on other social media networks. 3. Follow big organisations in your niche on pinterest and you will get follow requests from some of their followers. 4. Use some free tools like infogr.am to create nice infographics and share them on your pinterest profiles. 5. Make use of Pin in button on your website or blog. 6. Use the analytics tool of Pinterest to get the traffic estimation within your site and pinterest.

Providing good slides about the content you have is a nice idea to promote your business. You can also make videos of those slides later on and upload them on Youtube. I think slidsharing is a hot trend these days and it would remain for sometime untill people will try to spam it and provide low quality content. Then Google will surely take some measure to prevent it, but right now it's a good way to promote your business and get traffic to your site.

Here is a suggestion from my side. If you want to do a split testing for your home page, make one of your home page run for some time. After some users have viewed it, then upload another version of home page and make a poll option there for users to vote whether they liked the new version or previous version was good. This way you'll came to know which is best version to keep.
