Hello, I am going to porting a website over to a WordPress which I have not done before. I just wanted to ask you guys what the main considerations should be? and if you have any tips I have done my research and I have a good understanding of what to expect. I am not going to list what I found here as I don't want anyone to have any preconceptions when they post. To give you a better understanding I have listed some of my needs. - I am going to be keeping the url structure of the site but I will be adding a few pages. - I am going to change the design using a theme as a base to save time. Thanks to all replies in advance.
  2. If someone could just give me a little nudge in the write direction. (sorry for the bump)
  3. Firstly, please forgive me if this is in the wrong section but I'm sure it will be moved if need be. So I am going to be creating a site in the near future but I am carrying out as much research as possible before is start the design to avoid any major hiccups that could be prevented. The site is going to contain tutorials for all creative industries and needs to be easily searchable for the users. The easiest way to explain what i would like to do is to give an example, so here it is: http://work.ilenoliukgo.com/ What I would like to achieve 1. All information would be categorised under 7 main navigation headings such as vector, photo manipulation and so on. 2. “Tags”, I like the way the user can search for tags linked to posts. 3. “Similar posts” To me this is a must have. So to clarify it is not the whole site just the way they have presented their works and how the users can navigate through them. So if any of you could point me in the right direction on how this is achieved that would be fantastic. Like I said before I am currently researching so I can allow for anything that needs to be implemented in the design. Thanks in advance ppl
  4. Hello to all, I am new here so thought I would say a little hello, I have been looking around the site for a while now and I like what I see A lot of these intro posts are very small so I thought I would take the time to add a little description about me and what I will eventually achieve. Q. So what brings me here? A. I have been into design/art (Mainly digital art) for years now and want to create awebsite that helps others learn the process and workflow of an artist. I will create the design for the site but I am a bit of a newbie when it comes to coding (that’s where you guys hopefully come in). Q. What do I know? A. Design (Photoshop guru, hehe), some html, some css. So hopefully with some guidance I will be able to learn a lot and create something that I have wanted to for the last few years. The key word there is “learn”, I won’t be asking for people to write code and spoon feed me. I will only ask when the glorious World Wide Web can't answer my question(s) Jourdain
