It's not the best approach. There isn't a best approach. My mobile UIs are pretty good and I don't do mobile first. There's plenty of other very talented developers who also don't.

Maybe some people will disagree with me on this one but I don't believe it will make much difference which one you do first. The end result should be that you website works great for both desktop and mobile sized view ports. Whether you start with a mobile mockup and expand it for desktop or whether you start with desktop mockup and shrink it down to work on small screens it should net you the same result.

CodeSchool is by far the best of that list. As far as beginner to intermediate courses go they are excellent, really high production value on the videos, well thought out examples and the instructors have a great way of communicating some of the more tricky aspects of the language.

For more advanced Learning the FrontEndMasters is where it's at. Kyle Simpson and Doug Crockford have workshops on there and they are simply the most respected JS 'Gurus' in the industry.

Bingo! Transforming any non-vector image to vector format is shoddy. The amount of clients I ask for an EPS and they send me an eps with a .jpg pasted inside it

I can see the difference, SVG is not suitable for all images, it's based around mathematics so if your image is overly complex it's best to use PNG instead. Although SVG can handle gradients.

I am assuming that the image is just the logo, because the menu items below certainly should not be a part of the image. You can use some SVg icons for the icons besides the text though.

A thing of note - PNG to SVG conversion is almost always terrible, you have to start out from scratch, any good profiling company will make sure any logos are created in vector format.

I feel like I've tried everything and spent hours on this but I cannot seem to get the SVG version of this logo to match the PNG version, the problem is around the edges of the text.

Edit: Also, is there a way to display the full attachment? I am new to these boards.

    Hi

I have been working on this website since 2010 as a hobby during my studies.
Please could I have some feedback on this website.

    Is the layout okay?
    Use of colours?
Do you have any suggestions on what to have?
If you have any recommendations please share them with me.

I am trying to make the website with use of flat ui colours.

The main part that I am not keen with is the header.
