  1. Did you try it in explorer?
  2. I have designed a simple website for my cousin. The code is validated html, the css is also validated, however, for some reason I can't figure out, none of the hyperlinks work when the site is viewed in internet explorer. Works perfectly fine in firefox and safari. To view the website: www.carolweisbergburgess.com here is the basic code that repeats on each page: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" lang="en"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1" /> <title>Carol Burgess</title> <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/front.css" type="text/css" media="screen" /> <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/lightbox.css" type="text/css" media="screen" /> <script type="text/javascript" src="js/prototype.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="js/scriptaculous.js?load=effects"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="js/lightbox.js"></script> </head> <body> <h1>Carol Weisberg Burgess</h1> <div id="expl"> <ul> <li><a href="pages/contact.html" >contact</a></li> <li><a href="pages/bio.html" >bio</a></li> <li><a href="index.html" >paintings</a></li> <li><a href="pages/links.html" >links</a></li> <li><a href="pages/adfgallery.html">watercolors I</a></li> <li><a href="pages/carolinagallery.html">watercolors II</a></li> </ul> <div id="next"> <p><a href="pages/image10.html" ><img src="images/backgroundprevious.jpg" alt= "previous" /></a></p> <p><a href="pages/image2.html" ><img src="images/backgroundnext.jpg" alt= "next" /></a></p></div> </div> <div id="images"> <h3>Paintings</h3> <p><img src="images1/1.jpg" alt= "drum" /> </p> <p>In the Mood, oil on canvas 36"x36"</p> </div> <div id="back"> </div> </body> </html> and here is the css: body { background-color: white; font-family: helvetica, verdana, sans-serif; font-size: small; color: #660000; width: 900px; font-weight: lighter; } a { color: #660000; text-decoration: none; font-family: helvetica, verdana, sans-serif; border: none; } #expl a { color: #660000; text-decoration: none; font-family: helvetica, verdana, sans-serif; border: none; } #next { margin: -40px 0px 0px 50px; color: black; font-size: 130%; padding-right: 60px; } h1 { font-size: 200%; color: #660000; padding:50px 0px 1px 0px; margin: 0px 0px 0px 0px; text-align: right; font-weight: lighter; background-image: url(../images/backgroundheading1.jpg); background-repeat: no-repeat; background-position: left; } #images { color: #660000; text-align: left; border-top: none; border-color: #660000; border-width: 1px; padding: 50px 0px 5px 0px; margin: 0px; margin-left: 50px; } #expl { width: 150px; text-align: left; color: #660000; float: left; padding: 30px 10px 375px 20px; margin: 0px 0px 0px 0px; border-right: none; border-width: 1px; font-weight: lighter; border-color: #660000; } #expl h3 { font-weight:l lighter; font-size: 150%; } #images h3{ text-align: right; padding: 0px 70px 0px 0px; margin-top: -50px; font-size: 150%; font-weight: lighter; } #copyright { font-size: 75%; text-align: center; line-height: 1px; padding: 0px; margin-top: 30px; margin-bottom: 10px; border-top: none; border-bottom: none; color: #660000; } #images p { text-align: right; font-weight: lighter; padding: 10px 0px 10px 10px; margin: 0px 0px 0px 115px; color: #660000; width: 600px; } #images a { color:#eeeeee; } #post { padding: 5px 0px 0px 30px; margin-right: 20px; } #next { padding-top: 260px; } #next a { color: #eeeeee; text-decoration: none; border: none; } #links a { font-size: 175%; padding-left: 30px; color: #660000} #links ul { list-style: none;}
