Can i just add i have worked in the IT industry for years and remote support was my main line of business (contract and full time employment)- a majority of computer related issues ARE fixed over the internet- its that simple.....i'm sorry if you find this hard to believe....

In my experience from a work/contract related point of view, if i was unable to resolve a computer problem remotely, then i would lose that customer and my job..its that simple

There are many tools and skills to be had to resolve a computer problem over the internet- this saves both time and money.

Now saying that, rebuilding a computer cannot be done over the internet! (microsoft and acronis image deployment for example can be done but not for the home user!) ...sometimes a computer rebuild is necessary and this is where the customer would need to seek help eslewhere.
