  1. What tools do you use.

    I am new to the forum and apologies if this has been asked many times but I cants seem to find a definitive answer. Web design in general has interested me for some time and I want to try and teach myself some basics in my spare time. What I would like to know is what software you use and what it is used for? I am not asking for a lot of detail just a general answer to help me try and build up a mental picture of the tools/software required. I am not looking to start a career in this field but would like to understand how it works and try to build a site myself as a bit of a challenge and see how far I get with a little help from you. Thank you in advance for any help it is very much appreciated.
