    There isn't a way to style pulldowns consistently across browsers and platforms. There will always be slight differences, especially when you get to OSX/mobile devices.
     
    You'll have to do some kind of replacement like:
    http://harvesthq.github.com/chosen/
     
    Or just deal with the differences in the native controls. It's a huge pain to redesign them (and if you mess it up your users will hate you) but it's worth it if you can provide an excellent user experience across all devices.
