Its been a couple of years since Ive been on the site or indeed thought about becoming a web designer. I started out with all the enthusiasm one could muster, but rapidly became overwhelmed and disillusioned I can imaging this being a common ending to many web fellow Ive just installed Adobe master collection cs5 and all of the Lynda training courses onto my mac. Im determined to see the journey through this time. As a photographer I would often think "Jesus! is everyone on the planet becoming a photographer these days" Yes its an overcrowded field, but lets face it, what field isn't overcrowded now days? Every man and his dog wants a simple functional website these days. Anyway the journey begins Again.

Any opinions on www.joebuissink.com website? Do you rate this site? What's good and bad? Focusing exclusively on this standard of site how long would you give a determined beginner? How long would it take you from your beginnings? Sorry for stupid questions, but really interested. Thanks in advance

Hi Guys Thanks for the welcome. The name is just a bit of fun although goose stepping around my office does keep my glutes ship shape and Bristol fashion. So we have a split in the camp! Web standards, accessibility and usability? Is this an app? Googled it with no joy. Who would say this was better than the Ruby on Rails, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Search Engine Optimisation, HTML & CSS, PHP, ASP route? Thanks again Mein Schatz

Hi Everyone Looks like Ive started my journey in the right place. I need some solid advice on how to achieve my goal. I realise that web design is an ever evolving beast just like photography. I only started to take my photography seriously 2 years ago but I have already had a number of exhibitions of my work and now compete with well established photographers in my part of the U.K. I also have developed good photoshop skills and some design skills along the way. I know what can be achieved in a short period of time when an individual decides to "strap a pair on" and graft their pants off. SO. . . Which tutorials should I watch, what apps should I dive into, what mistakes did you make? Its funny! When I started photography I emailed all my local photographers (about 20) asking if I could assist them for free so I could gain experience. Needless to say only one every responded in a positive manner, and she was the only woman on the list, and no. . . it wasn't cause I sent a picture of myself LOL if that was the case there would have been zero responses. Anyways Thanks for any advice. So my journey begins Kissing Hitler
