  1. thanks for your ideas, I've got rid of the thick borders, reduced the amount of grey fill and changed the font as suggested. Also decided to scrap the red, as haven't seen many other sites use it which is probably because it's hard to make look good. I also tried to make it a bit more 'shiny' I know there's still along way to go, and I'm probably going the logo next, any more suggestions I'd be really grateful. Thanks so much for your suggestions, they were all really helpful Here's the link: Link to see the old version, click the top right corner
  2. Hey, I don't know much about web design, I'm just starting out in PHP, and I've made two simple websites. The first was a school project for teachers to write quizzes for their pupils, and it was my first program so I wasn't expecting it to be any good on the wd front: Link The second, is the one I'm working on at the moment, it's also for school, and it's an educational file sharing website for pupils to share their revision materials with other pupils (I know this sounds REALLY sad lol). I wanted the design to be really minimalistic, like that of all Google's services, but I think it's ended up just looking old fashioned Anyway the link for it is: Link I'd be so grateful for your opinion on it, and how I can improve it, thanks in advance xx
