sorry, i didn't specifically get what you were pointing. anyway, like i said,
tested on php4/php5
$array = array(array('one'),array('two'));
foreach($array as $v){
}
var_dump($v);
output:
--------
array(1) { [0]=> string(3) "two" }
the variable will exist as long as it is used in the same php file with the exception of using it within the function code block. code block for control and loop statements does not create another instance of the same variable name if it was declared previously in the same page.
if(true) {
$test = "test";
}
while(true){
if(isset($test)) {
echo '$test exists';
} else {
echo '$test does not exists';
}
break;
}
function printTest(){
if(isset($test)) {
echo '<br />', '$test exists on this method';
} else {
echo '<br />', '$test does not exists on this method';
}
}
printTest();
There could be few extensions for PHPBB and VBulletin that provides Single Sign On service.

Good luck!
i'm confused of what information should your [results] table would hold since your just inserting the total win with no other related data? maybe you want to use UPDATE SQL statement instead?
$updateResult = mysql_query("update results set totalwin = $totalwin where team = " . $row['team']);
also,
while(true) {
$test = 'test';
break;
}
echo $test;
output:
--------
test
--------
this works on php4 and php5
