Foreigner

There is a javascript function on this page that works fine in most browsers we use but not internet explorer (at least version 8 ). When an option is selected from the drop-down lists, the list below is supposed to show only the entries linked to that selection (as written in the javascript code). Is there something wrong with the code, or is this something that commonly happens on IE8? Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

Hello all, I'm very glad I found this forum, I've already been nosing around for resources and found a whole treasure chest of info I needed - so thanks to everyone who's been contributing with useful info My first experiences with web editing happened around the age of 12, using basic HTML and geocities before Yahoo got their hands on it(anyone remember that?). Anyway, because it was weird for a little girl to spend so much time on the computer, my parents discouraged me from pursuing that hobby, so I left it (something I now regret). Several years down the line I'm working in the communications team for an environmental consultancy. We're working on a broad comm. project for a high profile public client, and since more and more focus falls on their websites, we've been charged with the task of maintaining them. To show just how dire the situation is - I'm the person with the most experience of HTML in this company, and everything I know I learned 14 years ago (and things I've picked up along since I started this project). To make matters worse, the website also uses CSS and javascript, which I have 0 experience of. It's frustrating looking at a website you want to make fantastic and not having the knowledge for it, nor the resources to pay someone to do it. One good thing that's come out of this - I've discovered I'd like to learn how to code again, and do it well. It will probably take years, but one day I'd like to be able to make quality work for clients, instead of just 'winging it'. So that's my life story. Look forward to getting to know this place better!
