Ah right what about freelance work?

Yeah wasn't planning on getting many books, just thought a couple would be useful to get the basics nailed and see where I go from there. I'm hoping to do this as a job one day, what are the prospects like? is it quite easy to find work? I think I'm going to leave Photoshop alone for now until I've furthered my html/css knowledge dont't wanna overload the grey matter! I've seen in some tutorials people making sites in Photoshop then converting them to html or something, is that standard practice these days? Cheers Rob

Do you think it is best to master css/html before learning an image editor such as Photoshop?

Cool, do you have any recommendations for html and css books/sites for beginners? Would it be best to start off by making a small personal site and seeing how I get on? I'm pretty bad at creating logos and stuff atm so I need to increase my knowledge in this area too.

Hello there, My name is Rob I'm new to the forums, have been reading the last week and seems like a very helpful supportive community so I thought I'd register and post up a question. What does it take to get into web design? can it be pretty much self taught and what is the best way of going about it? I know basic html and css but thats about it at the moment. Cheers Rob
