Hello
I've been using W3school alot, especially the validator. Are there any design or UI/UX website's or books anyone would recommend to help with the designing side?

Hello
What do you mean by that? Like it is something you learn rather then you express? Is there any books anyone would recommend for a beginner? I'm nearly finished 'HTML,XHTML & CSS for dummies' which has been a great help.

Mac Book trouble
So I've had my mac for a while now and recently I've wanted to plug in an external keyboard. I dug one out and found a PS/2 connection so got a connecter off amazon and plugged it in, no joy. I did a bit of research and found i needed to download some programs to map the keys as it was a window's keyboard and to make it compatible. I downloaded the programs and ran them but it still doesn't work. I plug it in and the caps and num lock lights flash then go off and then I lose the use of my mouse and keyboard for about 20 minutes then it comes back. The start up speed had also decreased and it now takes for ever to turn on and when it finally starts I once again lose the use of my mouse and keyboard. Any idea what i did wrong? The programs were 'applePS2controller.kext' and 'voodooPS2Controller-0.98.pkg' Thanks alot.

Hello
But don't you think any talent/skills and creativity are involved in something like web design?

Hello
I'm studying general ICT, product design and psychology at the moment. Well I've always had an interest with computers, wether it be hardware or software. I've got basic's in many areas of computing, such as basic programming in python, XHTML, CSS and im quiet able with programs such as photoshop and illustrator. I'm also quiet creative, but I've never been one for drawing with pencil and paper, so I just get ideas for websites and build visual mock ups in fireworks but haven't had the ability to build them up until about a month ago. Now I've started teaching myself XHTML and CSS I've not really stopped. I'm enjoying it and hopefully my end project, an online portfolio, will reflect the time and work I've put into it. So I guess my reasons behind potentially wanting to be a web designer is down to the fact it's something I enjoy and I feel I'm getting to grips with it reasonably quick along.

Vertically centring image's
When i copied the css it wasn't in the centre, is that example designed for a certain screen size? I changed the "margin-top"to -100px and "margin-left" to -400px and this seems central on my screen now. Would this mean it would only be central on my screen or is that necessary dues to my image dimensions being larger then the example? I'm reasonably new to all of this, so sorry if these questions seem stupid.

Hello
Hi everyone I'm Oliver and I'm from London, I'm pretty new to web design, I've been self teaching myself with a few books and the aid of the forum for about a month now and thought I'd finally sign up. At the moment I'm a full time student, but am contemplating whether going into the world of web design is the way forward for me so if anyone's up for a careers chat I'd greatly appreciate it. Looking forward to meeting the WDF community.

Vertically centring image's
I'm trying to place an image in the very centre of my page but I cant seem to work out how. I've had a little look online and haven't found anything that could help me. I've used "img.center { display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; }" to centre the image horizontally, but I want it to be in the very centre of the page. Can anyone shed any light? Thanks
