  2. Hi Everyone I am currently starting up my own company and need some advice. I have recently purchased a static html5 template, I have edited it to suit the business needs and added my own content. Can someone please point me in the right direction of a good reliable hosting company and if I need to load my site onto a CMS or can I just load it straight onto the hosts hosting using their FTP? I would prefer to load it straight onto a host with their FTP if possible and if anyone knows of a really simple tutorial or steps on how to do this. I appreciate you all taking the time to read and hopefully respond. Many Thanks
  3. HP touchpad has been having major problems after spending something like 1.8 billion on the project and manufacture they still have no OS, and have started selling them dirt cheap. would you get one?
  4. Exactly like that. OK got it, it is obviously not going to help and is not a accepted practice, but if I was to write articles to submit these would I use the same method for anchor text. Thanks again for advice and help
  5. Hi I am completely new to trying this out so please try and be understanding, I have tried and tried without success to make backlinks through comments on forums. I am currently trying to use this to do it. <a href="the url">description of url</a> so a example <a href="http://www.google.com>google!</a> So this should actually just read- google! but it wont so..... I know this is basic but I dont know where I am going wrong? Any advice and help is greatly appreciated.
  6. Thanks MikeChipshop looked like it was starting to belong there. Lots of interesting perspectives especially about the SEO aspect, I think it largely depends what you include when asked to design a site, purists will probably not call SEO part of the design scenario but in everyday work I can see it would be a vital part of the process. Thanks again for all the comments!
  7. I am new to web design so for me to tell you what the most important aspects are would not only be foolish but ignorant, saying that I think if I had to form a opinion it would be closest to bb_matt with design(colours, images, fonts etc), usability and content would probably be in my top 5. Thanks again for responding.
  8. Hi Everyone Was just wondering what peoples ideas were of the top 10 most important aspects of designing a website, it could be what you have been taught or what you have experienced. If you think there are different criteria for a client depending on the clients role(job, subject) then feel free to add that to. I know it sounds basic but it could be really reveling and interesting to see what different peoples perspectives are. Please could you add what platform/software you use most when building a site for some extra information. Thanks
