I think it's really a good idea to check other, content centered sites, eg. news sites. They have a lot of content in them, still they usually look arranged and pleasant to the eye. Perhaps I would also emphasise a bit what your site is about (I mean the first few lines in the center of the content). Some small details, like the design of submit buttons, or different colours for links might also lmake the website look professional. I hope you can use some of these ideas

However, the basic idea is something you can start with! I would try to reduce the colours and perhaps the frame as well, and play with this mountain and cloud.

I usually keep the width of my sites between 900 and 1000 px. That should be fine... However, I thought about it and the purpose of your site can also define what size you need. I mean, this is a photo portfolio, and photos should be viewed in high resolution (higher than one that fits into a phone browser), otherwise they don't look good. I could imagine something that resizes the pictures according to the browser they appear in.

I saw you already have many finished sites. How about placing the opinions of your previous customers somewhere on the site? When I am looking for a service, it always encourages me to contact someone who has a good reputation. (For example, I asked my previous customers to write a few words about what it was like to work with me. I placed those opinions on both my sites and when people encounter my website they trust me better. I couldn't blame them for being suspicious by default, since they don't know who I am, and why would they pay for something they don't trust.)

Nice site! Your message came through for me, it was almost impossible to miss those highlighted, emphasised texts. And I'm sure this will be successful, small businesses will like the offer.

The first thing to notice was the same for me, the site doesn't fit in screens with smaller resolution. Loading speed was fine, and I like the way the credits are added to each picture.

I would place the welcome text in the sidebar, with a smaller picture of you. I think people would trust better those whose name can be immediately connected to a face. Besides, people browsing websites are usually lazy to read too much, and when your site loads, the welcome text is the only thing in the content that is visible. If you put it in the sidebar, your services slip upwards, so that visitors can read that first. And when interested, they will check who you are. Actually the boxes with your services are jut great, they summarize perfectly what the site deals with. I think you should show at least the top of them when the page loads

You may also try to edit your background picture in Photoshop or some picture editing program... Unfortunately not all CSS3 features work perfectly in all browsers. You can also try to separate the grayish background and the glow, make a png file with transparent background from the latter. Then you can set the gray as the background image of the body and to repeat, and create one container div (with all the other divs inside it), which will have the glow as its background, without repeating. First the colours were too harsh for me, but the more I stare at it, the better it becomes. This yellowish green header really creates a great contrast.
