  3. Hi guys, I am using a query slide bar in a site I am working on. I am able to make the bar slide up and appear by using a click function. However I can not figure out how to make it click and disappear? To be honest I do not even know if I am doing it the right way? it has been more of a trail and error thing for me. So below is the script: $(document).ready(function(){ //To switch directions up/down and left/right just place a "-" in front of the top/left attribute //Caption Sliding (Partially Hidden to Visible) $('.boxgrid.captionMain').click(function(){ $(".cover", this).stop().animate({top:'280px'},{queue:false,du ration:750}); }, function() { $(".cover", this).stop().animate({top:'530px'},{queue:false,du ration:750}); }); }); note: If I change the .click function to hover, it goes up and down perfectly. I just want it to go up down with a click instead of a hover. Thanks in advance
  4. what I have noticed is that the background image I have in the container div has shrunken to fit the screen and left what ever area left to be white... even though I have set the background to black?
  5. yea I have been told no probs on the mac now, however, with the ipod // ipad I am still getting an issue. I have been told maybe it is a problem with spacing between my div tags but I have not been told which ones and how to resolve which doesn't really help me much LOL any ideas?
  6. Hey guys, I made the website: http://www.sogabranding.com]Soga Branding I have been getting problems with iphone / ipad / macs where I do not have the problem on any other platform. If you have one of the above you will see the site has a BIG white block 3/4 through the site until the end of the page. However, in my CSS I have set the background to black, (which I assume anything outside of the background image will be black?). On my blackberry, PC I do not get this problem at all... Any ideas what is causing this? thanks guys
  7. I have been able to implement the HTML5 video into the site I have been working on www.sogabranding.com From what I have read the .mp4 format should be supported on the Iphone/Ipad however this does not seem to be the case for me and I do not know what I have been doing wrong. I have yet to add the .ogv and flash alternatives as I need to change a couple things with the video but it would be a lot of help it anyone had an idea to what I have done wrong. Thanks
  8. Hey guys... I am wondering what is the best method adding a video on your website without using flash. http://www.chanel.com/ <--- kinda like this site the video just plays in the background. I am aware HTML 5 you should be able to do this but my cs5 does not seem to want to update so I can't really use that... if anyone has any suggestions, it will b very much appreciated. thanks
  9. I was able to sort out the first question, <div class="menu_box"> <ul class="menu_list"><li> <a href="roadtonowhere.html">Link</a></li> <li><a href="roadtonowhere.html">Link</a></li> <li><a href="roadtonowhere.html">Link</a></li> <li><a href="roadtonowhere.html">Link</a></li> </ul> ..menu_box { background-color:#000;}ul.menu_list a {color:#FFF;} ul.menu_list:hover a {color:#999;} ul.menu_list li a:hover {color:#FFF;} This works a treat!! Thanks again for your help guys =D
  10. Hey thanks for the responses guys, I had managed to work out how to do the sliding menu bar using JQuery and it works a treat! However, the Links I still seem to not be doing something right... even with the help from webworks Code it does not seem to work as I want it. Would anyone be able to send me a demo file which I will be able to work out what exactly I am doing wrong?? Many Thanks Again Guys
  11. Hey guys, I am not really a web designer... I know the basics of CSS and Java Script however, I am in need to make a website with some specific detail and I don't have a clue if I am on the right path. I have two main questions really: 1. on the chanel website: http://www.chanel.com/ When you hover over a link (e.g. Skincare or make up) the other links turn grey. I'm not sure if there is a specific roll over code to do this or is it more complex? 2. on the website: http://www.harbourgrand.com/hongkong/luxury-hotel-,default-en.html there is a main image in the middle of the page. on this image there is a bar which says 'luxury by the harbourside' when u click read more the bar slide up and more information appears. Im sure this can be achieved using Java Script, Jquery or something but I just do not know where I am meant to start or what to look for. I hope I have been clear and really hope that someone will be able to help me with this. many thanks =D
