Hi there. This is easily done with a Wordpress site. Just start with creating the content, and find a template that fits your needs (or could be modified to).

Break points for responsive design?
Hopefully we will get to play around a bit more with responsive images in the future as well.

Break points for responsive design?
A lot of good points here. The Android units coming along like a meteor swarm is definetly a challenge. I still think some combination between responsive (if we talk about responsive as in percentage) and adaptive (if we talk about fixed sizes here) is overall the best combination I´ve seen so far. Mainly because the usage of videos and image elements are quite hard to implement in a percentage given layout in a lot of cases. Btw, came over a sweet showcase site on responsive layouts.

Break points for responsive design?
480 sounds like a good idea to fit those ones. I am wondering about how to implement ads for mobile devices into this though. Possibly another break point at 320/321? Google/Facebook seems to be aiming for this format on mobile, as I´ve understood it. One of my personal best findings so far, is to have a break point at 980 (@media screen and (max-width: 980px)). This makes you get one version of the site on horizontal iPad version, and another on the vertical one.

Break points for responsive design?
Anybody been experimenting enough with responsive layouts to give a tip about the number of breakpoints to use, and where to set them to cover the spectre of screens in a good/optimal way? Thanks in advance for any answer.

Website Redesign Require Review
Nice site! I could have liked slightly bigger font-size (and/or line-height) on both menu, and content items. Persahps a more black font color too? The main menu items could need some more padding. The last thing I notice, is the way you have scaled down your icons. In order to scale something down in a good way, first desice the final size. Then, divide it, so you can resize the image into (for example) ten or 20 times as large. Then scale down to your desired size. You will probhably notice less noise by doing it that way. But, I really like the design. Good job, and good luck!

Increasing Navigational Column
I guess I would start off by changing that column to not have a bcakground image. Having a background image with a set height, is allmost never a good idea when you design and create html/css in a good way. This is mainly because you will never have 100% control over the text-size that is actually appearing on your visitor´s screen.

Case: Aiming for more pages per visit.
Thanks! The goal is allways to keep the quality as high as possible, in order to become unique and frequently visited by doing so.

Case: Aiming for more pages per visit.
Hey, thanks so much! That´s some really nice feedback to get. I especially like the 'Falling off things' and 'Massive Jumps' ideas. In Wordpress terminologies, that would mean tags, which I haven´t used too much on the site yet. I also think you have some good points about the people coming to the site through referrals etc. When people search for "Extreme sports videos" and go to the site, they will spend an average of over 5 pages per visit. But, people who gets an url from Reddit, Stumbleupon, etc., normally goes after a video or two. That one will never change, I guess. But, people following us on Facebook, twitter, or even RSS, seem to browse quite a lot. And the new videos is critical, in order to get returning visitors. The Wall, is also a good one. I didn´t have the top six videos on the front page before today. But, might definetly get more of the same at a later stage. The most important feature, though, is getting people to comment, and to like the posts, which makes them spread. I think that one is working quite good, but could allways be done better. Anyway, thanks so much!

Case: Aiming for more pages per visit.
Pardon for replying to this old thread. But, have been doing a lot with the site, and the stats have changed quite dramatically. Any suggestions on how to improve more? The six teaser images on the front page, was added today, by the way.

Do not panic if your SERP positions drop after redesign!
I didn´t quite get your point, there. But indeed, if you´re making good content, Google will give you traffic. That simple.

Do not panic if your SERP positions drop after redesign!
Sorry for beeing late to answer this. But, no. No structural changes regarding the urls, 301 redirects etc. No other changes applied than structural changes regarding content/template. This was obviously enough for Google to send it down lots of positions, until it came back (but then, stronger than ever). But, the keywords I´m aiming for, are quite competative though (hard to get good positions on). Looks llike a Google dance like this happening again, right at this moment, by the way. Some days ago, I added another dropdown menu to my site. Since this is containing all the categories on my site, this is probhably seen as a structural change by Google. This time, I´m feeling more confident it won´t harm my SERP results for too long though.

Do not panic if your SERP positions drop after redesign!
Just wanted to share this one. I´m quite sure more than me will experience it sooner or later. Redesigned my site a while ago. Had been working really hard to get a good position on a few keyword phrases. Then, all of a sudden I did not find my page anywhere while searching for the keyword I was aiming for. WTF, was my initial thought. Did I do something wrong? I had been building quite a few links, but did really not get why this should happen, since I was following all of Google´s guidelines. I did not find my site on page 30 or 40 either. So suspected something was really wrong. Did some idiot report my site as spam, just to be evil? Did Google for some reason think my jquery dropdowns was working as doorways? I really couldn´t get it. Then, all of a sudden, my page came back. This happened about one to two weeks after the redesign. I had been filing a re-inclusion request too, because I was sure Google had been devaluing my site for some reason. But, just got an answer they didn´t. So the only conclusion I can make, after googling it some more, is redesigns are temporarily bad for your SEO. But don´t worry, if your site is good enough, it will come back.

Ideas for improving site
I´ll do some designing when I have the time. I´m not sure weather I should use the top space on the front page for the best video ever, or the newest featured one. But, a carousel might make both options possible somehow. The design process will hopefully bring a good idea or two that will make me decide on either, or both.

Ideas for improving site
Thanks! Very good point around the speed. I´ve been tweaking this quite much. The only graphical elements in the page are 1) logo, 2) background and 3) a sprite for the dropdowns, rss etc. The rest is pure css3. I´m also using WP super-cache and serving from Dreamhost. So it should ideally not be a problem. But, I need to fetch the views/likes. Therefor, some page loads are very slow. If the page hasn´t been loaded for a while, the page is checking both Google analytics for hits, and Facebook for likes. Plus those goddamn social sharing counters are fetched externally in all cases through javascript calls. Page speed actually sais it´s not the server side things (fetching and calculating), but the sharing icons, plus the video(s). So I guess I´m a bit stuck.

Thanks! The buttons could be done better. And some lightness might be good. I agree. Flares is also cool, and might look good. I´ll see what I can make on the next round. Also, featuring videos on the front page is a good idea. Maybee in a carousel somehow? Or do you think it should belong in the right column? Anyway, this is great. Thanks alot for the feedback!

Ideas for improving site
So, how do you think I can improve the design? In the content part, unique content is coming along in the future.

Case: Aiming for more pages per visit.
Thanks for your replies. The site is ten months now, I think. Too bad you don't think the design has changed much for the better, Mike #1. But, actually, people coming from Google (about 100 a day at the moment) tend to browse at average 3-4 pages per visit. So I guess the market is there, if I finally reach first page on the main desired keyword, which is searched 1.8 million times a month (according to Google Adwords). So far, I'm on average on page 3. By the way, what would you do better? Besides the fb box and the gradients? Mike #2; I guess it's not much of a success yet, but I'm quite pleased with the numbers, taking the age of the site into account. The key, is basically publishing great content, and keep doing it. That's it.

Case: Aiming for more pages per visit.
Hehe. You know the times you design something and don´t quite like it yourself. This was one of them. Been doing another redesign, not quite finished yet this one either. But hopefully this is a better direction to go. Mike: Helping hands would have been really cool! Send me a PM with your Skype id if you feel like it.
