  1. True focus can really make a difference, I've worked with many companies that have programmers and designers and the teams are separate... a designer doesn't want to spend hours working in PHP they want to use Photoshop to create creative websites. It makes sense to know a little bit a bit about designing and trying to understand designers and what they want but they need to understand some of the limitations such as the average visitors screen resolution. I've come across too many designers who design offline media and then try web design - it's completely different to a normal brochure.

What menu system are you looking at using? Run it through the W3C Markup Validation - validator.w3.org and run your css through jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/ - that should make it quite compatible but look through the main browsers (IE, Firefox and Chrome) to double check.

  4. Hello Ste, How did you get on? Have you managed to find a video medium that works on the iphone, blackberry and android?
  5. NEW YouTube embedded code: iphone: Video does not start. Android: Displays unusable black box. Blackberry Bold: Player loads but video doesn't start (identical problem to iphone, the loading spinner just keeps spinning). OLD YouTube embedded code: Android: Works - loads full screen. iphone: Works - loads full screen. Blackberry Bold: Displays Blank space.
  6. Thanks for checking, I don't know if its updated or not however her phone could be a average user. I'm about to test the old embedded code (seawardsolar.com/video2), I'll let you know how it goes.
  7. I personally don't have a Android phone but someone in the office does. I've added the YouTube embedded code to a test page seawardsolar.com/video and when we load the page the embedded area just shows a black box and doesn't play. It was also tried on other Android handsets over the weekend and the same problem occurred.
  8. Hi Ste, I have the exact same problem - I have videos on YouTube that I need to get working on a landing page. First I tried embedded YouTube videos but Android won't play them because the embedded player requires Flash, the iphone just loads the YouTube player app. The iphone and Android both support .mp4 files so I just need to find a compatible player. I don't have a Blackberry to experiment on but they also play mp4's. What player are you going to use to on your website? Thanks.
