    Hi guys, I am trying to learn Jquery, I usually try to build every thing by myself as I think it is the best way to learn, but I am in a rush for this. I am trying to build a drop down menu, here is the code: HTML <ul id="nav"> <li><a href="#" class="selected">Home</a></li> <li><a href="#">About</a></li> <li><a href="#">Pages +</a> <ul> <li style="border-top:0px;"><a href="#">Page 1</a></li> <li><a href="#">Page 2</a></li> <li><a href="#">Page 3</a></li> </ul> <div class="clear"></div> </li> <li><a href="#">Features +</a> <ul> <li style="border-top:0px;"><a href="#">Feature 1</a></li> <li><a href="#">Feature 2</a></li> <li><a href="#">Feature 3</a></li> <li><a href="#">Feature 4</a></li> </ul> <div class="clear"></div> </li> <li><a href="#">Portfolio</a></li> <li><a href="#">Contact</a></li> </ul> <div class="clear"></div> CSS body {font-family:arial; font-size:12px; background:#F1F1F1;} .clear {clear:both} /* remove the list style */ #nav { margin:0; padding:0; list-style:none; } /* make the LI display inline */ /* it's position relative so that position absolute */ /* can be used in submenu */ #nav li { float:left; display:block; position:relative; z-index:500; margin:0 1px; } /* this is the parent menu */ #nav li a { display:block; padding:10px; font-weight:700; height:23px; text-decoration:none; color:#333333; text-align:center; color:#333; } #nav li a:hover { color:#FF9921; } /* you can make a different style for default selected value */ #nav a.selected { color:#FF9921; } /* submenu, it's hidden by default */ #nav ul { position:absolute; left:0; display:none; margin:0 0 0 -1px; padding:0; list-style:none; } #nav ul li { float:left; border-top:1px solid #fff; background:#d7d7d7; } /* display block will make the link fill the whole area of LI */ #nav ul a { display:block; height:15px; padding:10px; color:#666; } #nav ul a:hover { text-decoration:underline; } /* fix ie6 small issue */ /* we should always avoid using hack like this */ /* should put it into separate file : ) */ *html #nav ul { margin:0 0 0 -2px; } JavaScript <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function () { $('#nav li').hover( function () { //show its submenu $('ul', this).slideDown(100); }, function () { //hide its submenu $('ul', this).slideUp(100); } ); }); </script> OK this is working fine but what I want to to do is add a submenu into the dropdown section, like UL slide out when user hover over submenu feature 2. Other thing I am not understanding is what is the use of <div class="clear"></div> in the above code. Youssef

    I agree with you, that is what I do exactly, some times I prefer to get a code understand it and then code it again and expand it from the beginning.

    Hi, I want the user to be able to upload up to 5 files into a folder, I am trying to make this process using Jquery and php. I am using the php to let the user add more than once file by adding a link called add and when the user click the add link it adds a <input name="ufile[]" type="file" id="ufile[]" size="50" /> into my form. while the php will get how many files the user added and upload them. The problem I am having is I want to get how many files is the user trying to upload and create a variable for each uploaded file. So if the user upload one file I want to get this: $filename1 = $HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['name'][0]; and if he upload 2 files I want to get this: $filename1 = $HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['name'][0]; $filename2 = $HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['name'][1]; and so up to 5. I am trying this php code: $FilesUploaded = $HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['name']; $file_count = count($FilesUploaded); for ($i = 0; $i < $file_count; $i++) { $filename = $HTTP_POST_FILES['ufile']['name'][$i]; echo $filename; } exit(); I don't really know how to get the $filename1 $filename2, I mean the numbers 1,2 ..5. Sorry if I didn't explain well, and please can you give me code as I am learning php. Youssef

    Hi guys, What you think if I use this, 1- The user who want to sell products in my website, I will pick only his email that he used to register into PayPal, and from there using the <input type="hidden" name="business" value="xx@xx.com"> to transfer that Money from the buyer account into the seller account.(So it will be all through PayPal). 2- For the buyer who want to buy a product in my website, I will use Third Party(PayPal), so all the bank details will be in the PayPal secure page, and no details will be used in my website. If I am right I wouldn't need an SSL certificate if I used this method, but definitely I will be using one soon in the future. Please let me know if I am doing some thing wrong as I want to be sure that every thing is going to be secure before I start my project. Youssef

    Thank you, OK so I will definitely need an SSL certificate, would I need any other secure methods with the SSL Certificate. Youssef
  13. fadia123 replied to fadia123's topic in Server Side
    I didn't say like that, I want it secure, I didn't build it yet, I want it secure and this is why I am asking, before I build.

    Hi, I want to build a website where users can add products on line and sell them, and when the payments happen it goes into that user bank account. So I need to get the users Bank details to be able to achieve this. My question is of course this has to be secured very good, can I achieve this without SSL Certificate and if yes what other ways I can use for this to be secured well. As I am not able to get an SSL Certificate in the mean time. Many Thanks, Youssef

  18. For the mysql_real_escape_string I know that you use it before inserting data into the database Escapes special characters in a string for use in an SQL statement , I found the error, actually it is not an error, I am using HSPC payment solution and I am reading in there integration guide and they say this: For a completed transaction the transaction result data is provided twice. They are sending it twice into the database from there system Thank you again guys. Youssef
  19. Thank you for your reply. No idea why I just use it every where So no idea why this happening. Youssef

  21. Hi Guys, I am trying to get row from first table and add it to the second table, but the problem I am having is it is getting the row and adding it twice to the second table? I don;t know what is the error in the code: //if the payment approved if($CpiResultsCode == 0) { require_once "*******.php"; // get the information from the unpaid table $sql = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM ******* WHERE OrderID='$OrderId' LIMIT 1"); $productCount = mysql_num_rows($sql); // count the output amount //if > 0 begins if ($productCount > 0) { while($row = mysql_fetch_array($sql)) { // get the information from temporary table $ShippingCountry = $row["ShippingCountry"]; $ShippingCountry = mysql_real_escape_string($ShippingCountry); $IP = $row["IP"]; $IP = mysql_real_escape_string($IP); $Date = $row["Date"]; $Date = mysql_real_escape_string($Date); } //insert the payment into the database $sql = mysql_query("INSERT INTO ****** (OrderID, BillingFirstName, BillingLastName, ShopperEmail, BillingAddress1 ,BillingAddress2, BillingCity, BillingCounty, BillingPostal, BillingCountry, ShippingFirstName, ShippingLastName, ShippingAddress1, ShippingAddress2, ShippingCity, ShippingCounty, ShippingPostal, ShippingCountry, IP, Date) VALUES ('$OrderId', '$BillingFirstName', '$BillingLastName', '$ShopperEmail', '$BillingAddress1', '$BillingAddress2','$BillingCity', '$BillingCounty','$BillingPostal', '$BillingCountry', '$ShippingFirstName','$ShippingLastName', '$ShippingAddress1', '$ShippingAddress2', '$ShippingCity', '$ShippingCounty' , '$ShippingPostal', '$ShippingCountry', '$IP', '$today' )"); } } Youssef
  22. Hi, I don't really know the "hackers" website. About the "works" do you mean that I should put some of my work inside the home page or improve the portfolio page? Many thanks, Youssef
  23. Thank you for your reply, I got lots of comments about people who likes the green style and some others who think the opposite too, what I am going to do is keep the same style but add another colour to replace some of the green ones. For the static and original, can you please tell me what made you think it looks static so I can improve it at this point . Thank you again
