Hi there - I'm new here as well
Website design does indeed have a huge scope when deciding what you can do. Flash sites are awesome, and from my experience, are used to create interesting user experience and stunning, interactive graphic design.
There is a place for everything in the market, the trick is to choose the thing you love to do the most and then excel in doing it.
I believe flash takes a lot of patience and a lot of trial and error to learn, but once you get there, you will be among the top earners in website design.
Flash websites are seen as a luxury, mostly used by businesses seeking drama and excitement, but not, obviously, for SEO. I expect that many of your clients may need a HTML or CMS website alongside the flash pages, but that doesn't mean to say you have to provide them. Have you thought about looking around for an experienced designer to team up with?
Good luck I'd love to take a look at your portfolio some time.
