Hey there, that isn't the issue. I have the required fields. I am not asking for CSS tips. The problem is about telling the user and how to present this with different options like using copy or grouping areas etc etc. Mandatory fields are not the issue here. Thanks for your comments though.

Hi there, thanks for your answer but this isn't a registration form. The user is already registered and some of these forms are for applications. There isn't an option to leave this out. I have to include it, but in such a user friendly way and this is what I am searcing for here. ))) Thank you, freebirduk

Hi everyone! I am new to this forum and hope someone can help! My problem is with a form that I am designing. I need to think of a way to present certain sections that are required for the form to be eventually processed but may not be necessary in order to submit the form. ie; I have a section for passport details but if the user doesn't have these details with them, they can simply keeping going through the form and fill these details out later. The problem is I don’t want the user to think because they don’t have these details they have to abort the form. The problem is how to present this in the most user friendly way? 1: copy at the top of the section to say ‘leave blank and fill out later’ etc 2: a tick box saying if you don’t have this information now then tick this box etc 3: with dividing the form into sections ie mandatory fields like name etc, then another section for fields they can leave out like passport number etc Is there any other way anyone can think of to present this information in the most user friendly manner?
