  1. ok for one thanks for replying everyone, I am digesting everything as I speak! There are only a couple of reasons I wanted to open a new window, and one of them was because I wanted to right my own HTML whenever I ebay things, and wanted to open a new image window. I think I need to open a new topic for this as it hasn't worked out! Also when my site is ready I have links to a lot of freeware stuff and I can imagine people getting somewhere, and not wanting to return to my site through fear of losing where they were up to etc.. so a new window seemed to be logical - I assume it would be similar to a new image window!? I actually worked it out in MX2004 soon after I posted this... By going to the tag inspecter> Attributes> uncatagorised and deleting the link to the large image, the original page no longer changes.. I would like to understand what I am doing here LOL! @Dizi that lightbox looks great thanks!
  2. I am trying to create click-able images using MX2004. What I want is to click a thumbnail image, which in turn will open up a new window with a larger version. I have sort of worked out how to do this using the behaviours tab but for some reason after testing, whenever I select the thumbnail I get the new window with the larger image, but also the 'home page' also displays the new image too! Now I am new to Dreamweaver so I suspect I have made a stupid mistake somewhere but I can't work out where!
  3. Thanks for all the warm welcomes folks (inc. the pmer's) I have got an 'empty shell' of a website but not much happening really I put it together rather quickly when re-installing my operating system but also thought it might be of interest to others. I generally need a project or idea to get going and put the time and effort into learning I find it very difficult to pick a book up and go through page by page without any 'purpose'... I am not quite ready for too much critique just yet as the page is full of faults and not really mean't for anything other than my own use but you can at least see the level I am on at the moment... http://www.btinternet.com/~olly_k/ I might hang round later with a couple of questions, Olly.
  4. Hi folks, thought I best get started and introduce myself! Basically I have wanted to learn web design of some sort for quite some time but always put things off, partly through lack of idea's amongst other things.. I have Dreamweaver now and a copy of Sams and a couple of idea's so hopefully this place will prove quite usefull! See you later, Olly.
