Thanks Andy, I get it now, so how does a Dreamweaver user test the links when the links are used that way?

<a href> advice wanted
Hello again, I really hope someone can help me please. The link from the code below works fine online when I click the "about" link , but does not work when I try to use Dreamweaver to preview the page on the local machine (Firefox or IE). <li class="about_selected"><a href="../about/" title="About ADS" accesskey="2">About Us</a></li> I understand that this is a relative link and that using ../ move a level up. The site set-up goes something like this: about folder------¦ ¦ ¦ ¦ index.html ¦ contact folder--¦ ¦ ¦ ¦ index.html ¦ index.html I hope that makes sense. The web address is: http://www.adsgroup.com/ Danny

Website downloader advice
Hi all, I was wondering if anyone can direct me towards an open source or free software that can be used to download an entire website, instead of saving page by page. (I know this isn't part of the topic, but does anyone also know if it is possible to use 'AND' / 'OR' options in this website search area.) Danny

Price comparison websites
Thanks guys, it's time for me to get my head around JavaScript and PHP.

Price comparison websites
Ok, so I need to start with PHP and MySQL. I found XAMPP for Windows from Apachefriends.org. I browsed around w3schools.com. It's seems like a great site to learn, but here is a new problem. According to w3schools I have to learn: HTML - I'm good for this. XHTML - I'm good for this. and JavaScript before I can learn php. Is JavaScript necessary?

Price comparison websites
Hi all, I was hoping someone can help me with a problem. I would like to build a price comparison website but I only have knowledge of HTML, XHTML and CSS. I understand that I require some knowledge of scripting language such as PHP. Although PHP is a free open source language, I have been told to stick to Microsoft based scripting language e.g. ASP.net (No reasons given). Can someone please direct me, with information on a suitable method of achieving this? P.S. I would like to avoid buying scripts and rather learn to hand code them myself. Any help will be most appreciated. Danny

Evrsoft First Page 2006 - HTML Editors
Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone on this site has ever used or is currently using Evrsoft First Page. I can't seem to find any thread relating to this software. I'm using this HTML editor on Vista and I have an annoying issue that I can't seem to overcome. When I am typing and I reach the bottom of the screen my text cursor continues to the bottom with out moving the screen up so I can see what I'm typing. This looks like a great editor, so I want to continue to use it. Any tips would be most appreciated Thanks Thanende

Hi all, I'm new to this forum
Hello everyone, I have recently taken the opportunity to enter the world of web designing at a professional level. Since the past 20 months I was employed in the Finance sector, but upon being made redundant I have decided to follow something that has fascinated me throughout my life. I would consider myself to be an absolute beginner and hope that with the help of the professionals on this site, to become a professional web site designer. Thanende (Danny)
