  1. cheers mate, thanks very much for the kind words. the site isnt finished yet, still some minor tweaks to fix..... like not having it spread over 6 different urls! (dont ask lol)
  2. Hello everyone. Just thought id listem to my PM and come and introduce myself. Names John White. Im 25 on sunday, been married for 7 years, and I have 5 kids (2boys, 3girls). Im from glasgow, uk. im 6'3" and currently on a WiiFit mission to get from 17st to 14st! (was 19st7lb, got down to 17st1lb in 5 weeks) I am quite new to the world or web making. I mean, everyone dabbles at it at school when there younger and bored out there brains in class and there supposed to be doing crappy research work in the IT room...... but since then ive not really bothered. Until 2 weeks ago. I made my first real site (The Faded) for an online game squad that I occasionally play in. I like the site, but have posted in the "How do i do That?" forum HERE to try and get help changing the drop box at the bottom!! I use dreamweaver, flash and photoshop to dabble with personnal stuff. but wanna get a lot better at the website building so I can make some more really wicked sites. please let me know what you think about the site. constructive critisism is very welcome. well, thats a bit about myself, any questions feel free to ask.
  3. Hi Everyone! I am updating my website and need some help with a tricky part. It will probably be simple for some of you guys, but im a bit of a beginner. i can make the sites how there meant to look using basic xhtml and css. but i want to change 1 thing and every time i do it, the whole thing goes arse over tit. The current Site Now, at the very bottom of the screen you'll see a jumpMenu that very cruedlty changes the colour of the theme buy linking to an alternative index.html and loading it in the iframe. what i want to do is make a jump menu that works the same. so it'll load the 5 different pages in the iframe and function just like it does now.... BUT! I wanna make it float at the bottom left of the window, so that its always on view and doesnt need the unsightly grey bar i have it displayed on just now. Can this be done easily??? Below is the main page code, the red sections highlighted are the parts that control the current jumpMenu. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.1//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml11/DTD/xhtml11.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <title>{ The Faded } SSCU Trench Wars Squad</title> <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="application/xhtml+xml; charset=UTF-8" /> <meta name="author" content="This is Star" /> <meta name="keywords" content="SSCU, Trench Wars, Subspace, Continuum, The Faded" /> <meta name="description" content="A Squad site for The Faded, SSCU Trench Wars Squad" /> <meta name="robots" content="index, follow, noarchive" /> <meta name="googlebot" content="noarchive" /> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="css/screen.css" media="screen, print" /> <script type="text/javascript"> <!-- function MM_jumpMenuGo(objId,targ,restore){ //v9.0 var selObj = null; with (document) { if (getElementById) selObj = getElementById(objId); if (selObj) eval(targ+".location='"+selObj.options[selObj.selectedIndex].value+"'"); if (restore) selObj.selectedIndex=0; } } //--> </script> </head> <body > <iframe src="http://thefadedred.110mb.com/index.html" width="100%" height="749" scrollbar="no" name="colourchangemain" frameborder="0" style="border:none" style="margin:0" style="outline:none"> <p>Your browser does not support iframes.</p> </iframe> <form id="form"> <select name="jumpMenu" id="jumpMenu"> <option value="http://thefadedred.110mb.com/index.html">Terrier</option> <option value="http://thefadedgrey.110mb.com/index.html">Warbird</option> <option value="http://thefadedblue.110mb.com/index.html">Leviathan</option> <option value="http://thefadedyellow.110mb.com/index.html">Javelin</option> <option value="http://thefadedgreen.110mb.com/index.html">Spider</option> </select> <input type="button" name="go_button" id= "go_button" value="Go" onclick="MM_jumpMenuGo('jumpMenu','colourchangemain',0)" /> </form></body> </html> I would also like to know if is possible to style the jumpMenu with css, cause i cannot figure that out. Hope you can help. Thanks in advance.
  4. Hey guys. this is my first post here cause i just stumbled across the place. but think its gonna be the first of many. Okay, my idea. I wanna make a personal website, with a members only area (dunno how to do a username & password form and get it to work). in that area i wanna display a lot of photos of family, kids, work projects etc and different topics/areas (this is can do). but then comes the difficult part. i wanna make it so the photos can be tagged (buy check box or some other method) and then downloaded as a bundle (.zip or .rar file or summit similar) so you'd be able to select like 100 pictures out of the thousands that will be there, and download them in a compressed file. is this at all possible? Thanks John W P.s. im a bit of a rookie.
