1. I've used it on other sites that work fine in IE9. Here: http://www.horizonfostering.co.uk/ http://www.acornfostering.com/ http://www.roxbourne.com/
2. Hey guys, I hope you can help! I've got a bit of an odd problem. I use addthis for social sharing on every website I create. I use custom code that works perfectly on other sites. It’s working perfectly in Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Opera but once you try it in IE9 it doesn’t work at all. The icons are there, but the links don't work. I have a feeling it’s clashing with something within the Valiano theme i'm using for Wordpress. The link is: http://www.interiorsbybroadway.co.uk/ The social sharing part is top right of the header. 5 Icons. It's Favourite, Pinterest, Email, Facebook and Twitter. I've tried the following to fix it but doesn't: - Disabling all plugins - Trying with a Fresh version of Valiano with none of my edits. - Trying different versions (1.7.1 and 1.7.2) of jquery. - Putting the script in different areas (I.E the header, just under the actual code, the footer etc) Things which does get it working in IE9: - Trying with a different theme - Duplicating the site, and running it locally with my WAMPserver. (Odd that this works) The code i've used is: <div class="addthis_toolbox"> <div class="custom_images"> <div id="addthis-kbb"> <a class="addthis_button_favorites social bfade"><img src="<?php bloginfo('template_directory'); ?>/images/social/favorite.png" width="30" height="30" alt="Favourite" /></a> <a class="addthis_button_pinterest_share social bfade"><img src="<?php bloginfo('template_directory'); ?>/images/social/pinterest.png" width="30" height="30" alt="Pinterest" /></a> <a class="addthis_button_email social bfade"><img src="<?php bloginfo('template_directory'); ?>/images/social/email.png" width="30" height="30" alt="Email" /></a> <a class="addthis_button_facebook social bfade"><img src="<?php bloginfo('template_directory'); ?>/images/social/facebook.png" width="30" height="30" alt="Facebook" /></a> <a class="addthis_button_twitter social bfade"><img src="<?php bloginfo('template_directory'); ?>/images/social/twitter.png" width="30" height="30" alt="Twitter" /></a> </div> </div> </div> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://s7.addthis.com/js/250/addthis_widget.js#pubid=ra-500c23382075c83b"></script> Could you take a look for me guys? Thanks alot in advance.
3. Hello guys, I recently finished off this website for the local comedy club, The Stroke Comedy Club. The main idea of the site is to let people know about the upcoming shows and the comedians performing at those shows. Could everyone please give the site a review. Tell me what you think, and how it could be improved. Based on Looks, useability and the code. If anyone knows about SEO, please rate my attempt at that too! Heres the link: www.strokecomedy.com Thanks a lot!
4. Hey Guys, I asked for some feedback for this website back in February 09'. Since then, I would assume there's a lot of different active members on the forum up for giving me some constructive criticism! So with that in mind, tell me what you think upon first impressions, and how it could be improved. Based on design, usability and the code. If anyone knows about SEO, please rate my attempt at that too! Just incase anyone is interested it's my own website for my new*ish* Web Design company Roxbourne. The link is: www.roxbourne.com Thanks a lot guys.
5. Hey guys, really appreciate all of your input. In response to Thomas Hardy, I agree it was too 'busy'. I've made some pretty big revisions to the homepage, reducing the amount of information. Take a look again. Tell me what you think: Roxbourne Homepage In response to kree8or...I agree with you too, the text is not readable enough. I therefore changed the main font from Arial 11px to Tahoma 11px which to my eyes is slightly more readable. What do you guys think?
6. I had a lot of trouble with RyanFaits one too. I found this one to work very well. http://www.cssstickyfooter.com/
7. lol, cheers. I always thought it was Mac only!
8. Ah...The one browser I'm not able to check my site in is Safari Does anyone know any way I can do it with a PC? Anyway, to answer your questions, Im 21 and 22 in November. Our target market is mostly small businesses ranging from 1-20 employees, for now anyway! We aim to push our Web Design and SEO services, more than anything else I guess, graphic design is always part of that process though. I started the business and immediately the website in October 08, with my Dad. So to answer that question, theres me and my Dad for now! Thanks for all the tips so far guys. I was thinking of changing the contact form, for a start I need to add some validation, and the way it's styled is just too much of a hassle. requires lots of graphics etc. It's called 'Niceforms' - http://www.emblematiq.com/projects/niceforms/
9. 3rd now mate! Well done! Pagerank of 3 too! Not bad. A Few things ive noticed. At the bottom in the graphic you've got "Best viewed at a resolution of 1027x768 or greater" It should be 1024x768, as you've correctly written in your footer...Just a small thing! But you might want to correct that.
10. Roxbourne.com Hey Guys, This is the 6th Website i've made. This Time it's my own website for my new start-up company Roxbourne. Could everyone please give it a review. Tell me what you think, and how it could be improved. Based on Looks, useability and the code. If anyone knows about SEO, please rate my attempt at that too! As a side note: I've learnt a TON from coding & designing this website. Heres just a few things: How to use conditional comments so specific browsers (Mostly the dreaded IE6!) use only the code within it. Testing the site in as many browsers as possible making sure the site is consistent. I tested using Firefox, Chrome, IE8, IE7 & IE6. How to use a sticky footer. (Makes sure the footer sticks to the bottom of the browser despite the content. This one being the best by far - CSS Sticky Footer How to load javascript via googles JSAPI instead of locally off our own hosting server. How to get Jquery & Prototype to work together. (This was a big pain in the arse!) - Tip..rename all mentions of '$' in Jquery JS files to 'jQuery'. Becoming more efficient at making sure my code validates. Thanks a lot guys, appreciate it.
