Forgive me to placing this question here instead of in the seo section but....

 

I have a basic simple html "blog" (not cms based) on my site. Each listing is only the intro text with a link to a new .html page. I am thinking of adding a news feed ticker attached to the blog.xml file. What are the seo implications of this?

 

Also, is it an absolute waste of time to add hashtags to the text in the blog.xml file? Just curious. Thank you for your time.
