Website for my Football Club

Featured Replies

Hi all,

For the last couple of weeks I've been working on a website for my football team during my spare time, it's not finished yet, like there is no gallery page as of yet. I just wanted to share what I've done so far and get some suggestions.

Design wise, don't expect anything amazing, I was concentrating more with working with HTML and CSS, experimenting with different layouts and colour schemes, before I settled with you'll see.

This is the first time I've built a website since my A levels I believe, hope it's not too awful!!

Cheers!

Not bad.

The menu items are a bit to close to each other on small screens which makes them very hard to acess from a mobile.

The typography could use a bit of work to, it looks a bit to crisp. Maybe a slightly bigger font-size and either use text-shadow or even the contrast a bit.

I would advise you put your HTML through the W3C Validation Checker.

You are missing the closing <body> and <html> tags on your info.html page, for example.

There are also some instances of divs being closed off incorrectly / incorrect nesting of elements.

Otherwise, structure looks OK. Good use of HTML.

Thanks for the input, will get around to improving it when I get a moment!

D'oh! I'd checked my html page, which flags up the line I pasted from google fonts, but stopped there, no idea why?

Have quickly adjusted my info.html page so it's not so error ridden.

Anyways, thanks for a having a look :)

No worries! I think it was only the info.html that flagged up when I looked at it :)

You may want to use a slideshow to make the site more inviting to site viewers.

But good job on the site being responsive even if you are a beginner :)

Thanks for the feedback, a slideshow was something I had thought of, but nowhere near confident enough using JavaScript for that and didn't want to copy and paste one in!

Think I'll get around around to doing what Nillervision suggested first and then maybe go through some more JavaScript courses on Treehouse or CS.
