Hi,

 

I'm relatively new to web design and have created a few contact forms in the past and used services like Google forms and Wufoo to create simple forms that I've embedded into websites.

 

I'm wondering if it is possible to create a more complex form that can submit the mobile users current location.

 

Ideally I would like to create a form that has a landing page asking the mobile user whether they are at the Venue location and have two buttons YES/NO.

 

If they select NO button then this will lead them to a form page where they can fill out the address of the venue, Postcode, phone number, website URL etc.

If they select YES button then this takes them to another form page where they do not get asked this address question but it just uses the phone location and submits the lat/long co-ordinates instead. So basically saves the user having to type in the long address of their current location.

 

I've used google forms before and have created forms that 'split' like this depending on users responses and have been quite impressed with the ease of setting them up and then getting the results saved to a google doc.

 

If this is possible and anyone can point me in the right direction of where to start looking I'd appreciate it. Whether it be some kind of scripting, tinkering with the google form, HTML I don't mind having a go at it but if someone knows some online hosting type of solution like wufoo, typeform or some such that would be better.

I'll have a read of that page. I think I remember reading that same page a couple of years ago when HTML5 was first coming out and this was touted as one of it's new features. I'd forgot about it.

 

Just need to see now how I can bundle into into a form now.
